Halloween Recipe: Cookies inspired by Jack (Decoration). / Receta Halloween: Galletas inspiradas en Jack (Decoración).
Hello Hivers lovers of cooking and good food!
Happy and blessed start of the week to all. On Mondays we usually start things with better spirits and positivism, questions of beliefs I imagine. But, the important thing is that we start with the best foot possible.
Now, we are in the month of terror. Halloween is very close, so it has occurred to me to make some recipes based on these dates. Halloween is celebrated in many parts of the world, but in my country it is not a significant date, it is only seen as part of the hubbub outside. It's a shame, I remember that when I was a girl, I wanted to dress up and go from house to house looking for sweets 😂.
Over the weekend, I decorated some Jack-inspired cookies. They are Oreo cookies (American type, they are darker), covered in white chocolate and I have also drawn the details of the face with dark chocolate (eyes, nostrils and mouth).

But...
Who is Jack?
Jack Skellington is known as the "King of Halloween Town" or also known as the "Pumpkin King". He is a tall, skinny character made up of only bones. His clothing varies according to the scenarios, but he usually wears a dark suit with grayish vertical lines. The character was originally born in 1982, where a poem made by Burton flows, although a few years must have passed before the idea was consolidated in concrete and as we know it today. The character of Jack in the wake of the movie called "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is established as an icon of the Halloween season.
Ingredients
- 9 Oreo Cookies, American type. | - 100 gr White Chocolate for Coverage. |
---|---|
- Dark chocolate, chocolate drops. | - Liquid milk, optional. |
Preparation
Remove the cookies from the packaging and reserve. On the other hand, take the white chocolate and cut it into pieces. Place the chocolate pieces in an aluminum cup and place in a pot over a bain-marie. The correct way is to remove these pieces, as they melt. If you notice that the consistency is very thick, you can add a little liquid milk, to make it a little more fluid and to make the coverage easier. The consistency should be light.
Now, with our chocolate being of good consistency, we will take the cookies one by one and soak them with it. This step must be done carefully, because the chocolate will be very hot. We can soak or cover the entire cookie, instead I have only covered one of the tops. We will repeat the process as many times as necessary and let it rest in the freezer for a few minutes.
After the cookies are refrigerated, we must melt the dark chocolate carefully. In the same bag that came I have made a picket on the tip, very small. This will serve to make the details of Jack.
We will carefully draw the eyes, followed by the nostrils. We also draw the mouth and pass some lines vertically to simulate seams. If you feel it's a bit tricky, you can practice on a different surface first.
After making the decoration on each cookie, we take it to the fridge for a few minutes so that the chocolate hardens. After those minutes, they will be ready to store or serve, they are very tender. You can not only decorate Oreo cookies, but whatever you like or have.
For this occasion, it seems to be everything. If you made it this far, thank you very much for your time.

Ingredientes
- 10 Galletas Oreo, tipo Americano. | - 100 Chocolate Blanco para Cobertura. |
---|---|
- Chocolate oscuro, gotas de chocolate. | - Leche líquida, opcional. |

In my country, Halloween has become a modern thing imported from the Western world, the meaning of which I'm sure most people don't realize. They just enjoy the costumes, the masks and the sweets without getting to the bottom of things.
I'd say I'm not a fan of the horror it's associated with, but your cookies turned out really well, look pretty good and I'm sure are very delicious. I would try one 😊
Here it has not been adopted, nor the like. Maybe it would be nice to see everyone animated, in costume...
And thank you, they are very good and rich accompanied with a glass of milk. 😊
Saludos cordiales.
