Hong Kong Advances Stablecoin Regulation Bill

Stablecoins are getting more popular and its anticipated that this demand will continue to rise in the coming years. Hong Kong has proposed a bill for stablecoins and the country is advancing its regulatory framework. Its mandatory for stablecoin issuers companies to obtain a license from Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to operate in the country and this bill defines the policies that issuers companies must comply with.

Bitcoin adoption is growing worldwide and after the US election result, we can see more about bitcoin. While retail users are already trying to buy bitcoin but now institutions are also coming forward to have bitcoin their books and portfolio. The dollar’s share has been shrinking in global foreign exchange reserves so could we say this will be replaced by bitcoin?
