Say hello to the latest lottery winner

First of all, I didn't actually win any lottery as this article is an entry for the neoxian city prompts and hey, I welcome this type of prompt as it gives me an avenue to daydream about all the things I will do with a lot of money on my hands. Many of us have dreams and aspirations that are directly or indirectly associated with making lots of money. Most of the time, such dreams and aspirations will require some money for them to be accomplished.

Lottery is something that isn't very popular in my country these days as compared to the early 2000s. These days, sports betting has taken the spotlight off different lotteries but some of those lottery companies are still in existence and people still actively try to win the lottery every day. Let's say I find myself playing one of those lotteries and actually winning, what will I do with all that money? There was a person who won 72m ($72000) naira from a lottery last year, what if that person was me?

Go on a shopping spree

I'm not even going to lie or come up with some fancy investment as the first thing I will do. We are humans and there's always this impulse that comes with suddenly having a large sum of money but that's the reason why a lot of lottery winners end up broke after a while. The key thing to remember is to be disciplined while spending. So, I'm going to take just 1 million naira and go on a shopping spree.

Buy some new clothes and shoes (nothing too expensive), and also buy some for my family as well. Get myself a new phone and a high-end laptop which I so desperately need right now for my programming journey. I will make sure that everything falls within that 1m naira budget. I will also buy a lot of food items and stock my home with them. The shopping spree will go on for a couple of days and after that, it will be time to invest.

Open a fish farm

I studied aquaculture and fisheries management at the university and I recently graduated. I have played with the idea of opening a fish farm but that sort of thing requires a large amount of money if it's to be done on a large scale. So, I will set aside 20 million naira just for the operation of a fish farm. The money will go into purchasing a suitable land, building fish ponds and tanks, sinking a borehole, purchasing fingerlings and fish feed, buying tools and equipment, paying employees, etc

The money should be enough to carry the farm for at least 2 culture seasons without even touching the revenue generated. With this, I can be makimg some money from the business and also reduce the unemployment rate in the society as I will be employing some people to run things on the farm while I supervise and direct the affairs of the business.

Build a house

As of now, I should still have around 50 million naira left and I will set aside 30 million to build a house. I would have used something lower and just built a small house for just my family but I think it will be better to build a house with some blocks of flats so I can rent them out. Also, I will build some stores at the front of the house and also rent those out, which will also generate a good amount of income in the long run.

Invest in hive

I have always loved the idea of owning a large amount of hive power and I'm slowly working towards that. I'm always in shock when I come across whales having lots of HP and I would like people to also express shock when they come across my account and see the amount of HP I have. It will be great if my votes have a lot of weight behind them and people will be like "Who's this guy?". So, I will invest around 10 million naira ($10000) into hive and yes I know it's not a lot but at least it will make a lot of difference.

Conclusion

At this point, I should have around 10 million naira left and I believe the best thing is to save this remaining money. A lot of people might be thinking of bank but with the way the Nigerian currency is losing value every day, that 10 million will be worth less than that in a few months. So, the best thing will be to save it in cryptocurrency, preferably a stablecoin. I will either pick USDT or use HBD or split it evenly between both! I think that's better, after all, it's not a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket.
