Cruising around with the canoe
We talk to the boatman very nicely and tell him that if he finds it difficult to steer, he will hand over the seat of the boat to us and we will drive the boat. Also let him know that he needn't take too much trouble, just take the boat around very slowly and show us around. The boatman was very good and took us along the banks of the river as he said. We see a different aspect of nature while passing through the edge of the river. We also saw a variety of birds on the banks of the river which was a great surprise for us. We also enjoyed seeing a variety of birds this winter. The boatman was letting us getting more informed about various types of birds that exists here..
We could not take good pictures of the birds with our phones. If we had a camera with a good quality zoom lens, we could have taken beautiful photographs of those birds. However, it was a happy thing for us that we got to see with our own eyes rather than being caught on camera. After traveling like this for about 45 minutes the food we had taken with us ran out as we were looking at the nature while eating. Later we ask the boatman if there are any shops nearby as we enjoyed the boat trip while eating different kinds of food. We also gave some of our food to the sailor.
Then the boatman took us to a wharf and stopped the boat and said that if you go a little further, you will find a food shop from where you can buy and bring food. I forgot to say one more thing, the little son of the boatman who went to bring the shirt did not come then, then another boatman took him to our boat. That's why the sailor's son was with us on our boat trip. We gave him chips, juice from our food. He was sitting on one side of the boat enjoying the food and listening to our conversation.
After stopping the boat at a jetty in Banwar, my two friends got off the boat to buy more food and they also bought chocolates, chips and some other food from a shop so that we could enjoy the nature while eating. Then the boatman resumed the journey with us. Watching the nature around and the sunset moment sitting on the boat was a different joy. The beauty of nature fascinated us all. I took different photographs at that time, if you see those photographs you will also understand how beautiful the nature looked that day.
In this way we had a very pleasant two hour boat trip. At the end of the trip, we thanked the boatman a lot and gave him an extra tip of 50 taka on the way back for giving us such a nice trip. Thus concludes our day trip to Bawar. It was cold on the way back because I was only shirtless. However, I came to Panchpota market from that place trembling. Then from there we took Toto to Gobardanga station and from Gobardanga station we left for our home by train.
