Wiener Philharmoniker 2015
Hello happy weekend everyone!
A few days ago I saw a post about a collector coins and I remember that my aunt have a similar coin in her drawer. I asked her if I could take looked at it and took some picture. she doesn't remember how much it cost, as it was years ago. a friend of hers just sold it to her.
I decided to wrote about this coin so we can learn more about it. maybe someone might know something about this coin that are not in the internet.
About the Coin
This coin is a special coin from Austria. It is a combination of arts and money, showcasing the cultural heritage of Austria. this coin can be considered as a collectors item or an investment since it is made of silver.
On the front side of the coin, there's a design that looks like a pipe organ. This is the same kind of pipe organ that the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra uses to play their beautiful music. Above the design, you will see the words "Republik Osterreich," which means Austria. Below that, there are the words "1 Unze Feinsilber," which means it's made of one ounce of pure silver. And don't forget the year 2015 – that's a little reminder of when the coin was made.
On the back side, we will find a bunch of musical instruments. Harp, Violin, Cello, and more. in around above, you will see the word "Wiener Philharmoniker" (a german word) which means Vienna Philharmonic. In the middle there is a word SILBER which means Silver.
As i checked the coins, I noticed that the shiny part of the coins have fade.
is this normal to fade?

'Philharmonics' are 99.9% Fine silver, they are also considered legal tender in Austria so their purity and value is backed by the Austrian government. As to the non-shiny parts of these coins, they appear to be 'Milk spots' a chemical treatment residue from the minting process that wasn't thoroughly removed prior to coining.
i see that what we call it. is there a way to remove or repair the milk spots? can i use metal polish to make it shiny again?
I got plenty of coins with these milk spots. I've heard of a few techniques on YouTube in removing them but doesn't add any value to the silver nor was it worth the effort and expense on my part unless I am bored with a lot of time on my hands.
very cool coin bro!
