Danny's big heart
Danny's bright orange wig, oversized shoes, and red nose were the beginning of his charm. He was dedicated to making children around him happy. He was a clown with a heart of gold who was always seen around children. He lost his parents at an early age and went through a difficult time until he met Mrs Gabriella who took him in and raised him like her child. Mrs Gabriella loved little children, he had learned to make children smile and laugh from her and soon realized the joy in it and wanted to make them feel loved the same way he did around Mrs Gabriella.
One day, Danny received a special invitation to visit a children's hospital. Mr Clinton who had watched Danny play with children believed he'll be a hope to some of the children who might have felt hopeless at one point. Danny wasn't sure if his soft heart will endure watching children in pain, he had wanted to decline the invitation afraid that it'll remind him of his past but Mrs Gabriella encouraged him to go.
"This invitation may have come with a purpose that you'll discover in the future" she told him.
Even though Danny was skeptical about it, he accepted the invitation and learned better ways he could interact with children who were in pain.
As he arrived, he was met with a room full of young faces, each one braver than the last. He understood the children were from different backgrounds and environments and that itself had shaped their differences. He went from bed to bed sharing jokes, doing magic tricks, sharing balloons and animals , but one child in particular caught his attention. A little girl named Debby, she was isolated in the corner of the ward, she was too sick to even smile. She watched them with a faint look almost uninterested in what they were doing. He went to her and tried to make her laugh, doing all his jokes, magic tricks , and even presenting caricature images to her, but she stayed calm. Danny wondered what was wrong, determined to ensure every child smiled, he kept trying all he could until he remembered one old trick. This may work, he thought.
With a flourish, Danny pulled out a tiny harmonica and began to play a lively tune. Debby's face lit up as she seemed to enjoy the rhymes. Soon she mimics the tune and shakes her head gently. Danny was happy to see her smiling, he never felt connected to children like this very moment and his visit made him realize how little humor and acts of kindness could go a long way for those little children. Just when he thought he had overcome the challenge, he was taken to a section where he met a child who had lost his parents just like him. He had compassion on her and requested if the hospital would allow him to raise her.
"Are you adopting her?" Mr Clinton asked
"Yes, I want to. She reminds me so much of myself and I wouldn't find peace if I don't reciprocate an act of kindness I once benefited from" Danny told him. He followed the due process and she was officially given to him.
He raised her with the help of Mrs Gabriella who was always willing to help and he visited the hospital every week bringing laughter and joy to the children. His presence made a big difference in their lives, and Danny was fulfilled. He believed his going there was to meet Sophia, the girl he adopted. She grew up to be wise and beautiful. Danny never made her feel like he wasn't her biological parents. Sophia grew up loving her adopted fathers career, and wanted to see children happy. More clowns will make the world a better place, Danny thought watching his adopted daughter take up his place.
Such a good fellow.
Im happy he remembered the good that was done to him and went out of his way to do good too. An act of kindness turns into multipke, truly.
