Wat Mae SoonLuang, Fang District, Chiang Mai, Thailand, Lanna style Thai temple.
Hello everyone. Today me and my wife had the opportunity to go to Wat Mae SoonLuang. This temple is a medium sized temple in a rural community of Fang District, Chiang Mai Province. We accidentally see this temple. So we immediately visited this temple. Because we like and are fascinated with temples.
Wat Mae SoonLuang is located in Mae SoonLuang village. This temple is a place for buddhist ceremony and northern traditions or Lanna traditions of the buddhists in this village. Wat Mae SoonLuang is a quite old temple, built in A.D. 1902 or 121 years ago.
The journey to Wat Mae SoonLuang, journey on highway 107, Chiang mai-Fang route. When reaching Mae Soon Subdistrict, Fang District, the temple is on the left and opposite the Mae Soon Subdistrict administrative organization.
Some atmosphere on rural roads in Mae SoonLuang village.
This temple has two main entrances. Entrance to temple 1, This entrance does not have an entrance arch to the temple. But there will be a name tag of temple. And between the entrance to the temple there are two lion sculptures.
Entrance to temple, entrance 2. This entrance has a large entrance arch. Although the temple entrance arch looks quite old. But the entrance arch still looks beautiful.
The buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple Looks quite old as well. But it looks charming and beautiful with decorated with Lanna art patterns. Both the entrance arch to the temple and the buddha image hall (viharn) looked quite old, so I felt like I was turn back in time decades ago. I think buddha image hall (viharn) and the entrance arch was built more than 60 years, but has not yet been restored.
Inside the buddha image hall (viharn) there is the main buddha image and many other buddha images. And the inside walls of the buddha image hall (viharn) are decorated with many buddhist paintings.
Beside the buddha image hall (viharn), I'm not sure what this is but there are many Buddha images inside.
This temple also has a scripture library or scripture repository. But the script library or scripture repository is not open to the public. This scripture library or scripture repository is a 2-storey building decorated in Lanna style.
The scripture library or scripture repository.
The ordination hall (ubosot) will look newer than the buddha image hall (viharn). I think it was probably only built a few years ago. Of course this ordination hall (ubosot) was built and decorated in Lanna style. which looks beautiful and fascinating. But the ordination hall (ubosot) is open only for religious ceremonies.
The temple's pagoda is a white polygonal pagoda. Inside the pagoda is a buddha image. And the middle of the pagoda is a standing buddha image on 4 sides.
Additionally, the temple also has a building for religious ceremonies which is beautiful. And above the roof of this building, there is a pagoda. Inside the building are buddha statues and sculptures of buddhist saints.
In addition to the beautiful architecture and sculptures, the temple also has many large trees. Therefore, this temple is another temple that is worth visiting.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
