Visit and introduction to the old Thai temple in northern Thailand : Wat Phra That Sop Fang.

✍️ Today I introduce one of the old Thai temples in Thailand and is a temple with a long history. This temple is named "Wat Phra That Sop Fang". Thai writes that "วัดพระธาตุสบฝาง".
Wat Phra That Sop Fang is located in Tha Ton Sub-district, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. Traveling to Wat Phra That Sop Fang takes the route Chiang Mai - Thaton.
This temple is located on a mountain called Doi Sop Fang. The word "doi" is the local dialect of northern Thailand, which is a mountain. Therefore, this mountain is called Sop Fang.
I took some pictures to share the scenery on the way to this temple too. Which is an example of the route to the temple.

✍️ This temple is not a beautiful temple. But it is an ancient temple and is considered an ancient temple in the north of Thailand. Wat Phra That Sop Fang is a peaceful and shady temple suitable for meditation.

✍️ The history of this temple is an ancient and old temple 1577 years old. The temple was built around the year A.D. 445. Created by Phra cea phrhm maharach the governor of Chai Prakan, who ruled Chai Prakan in ancient times. This temple used to be an abandoned temple without a buddhist monk. And the temple was renovated and new buildings were built more than 100 years ago. Especially the pagoda of the temple makes it beautiful until today.

The highlight of this temple is this pagoda. Inside contained the buddha's relics, the bones of the buddha's forehead. For Buddhists, prostration and worshiping the Buddha's relics is regarded as the highest auspiciousness to oneself.

✍️ In addition, everyone can enjoy the view, the natural atmosphere and the agricultural areas below the people of Mae Ai District as well, around the viewpoint on the hill where this temple is located.
