Prepare things to make krathong of son and granddaughter (banana leaves vessel) for tomorrow's school activities.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This Friday is Thailand's Loy Krathong Festival. In yesterday's post, I took everyone to see the Lanna lanterns for the Loi Krathong festival at a temple in my district. But today my wife and I aren't going anywhere. Today we have to prepare things for making krathongs for son and granddaughter at kids's school on tomorrow. The kids's krathongs that will be made tomorrow is banana leaves vessel. Making this krathongs is part of the activities in each school's Loy Krathong Festival.

We go to the home garden first. In the home garden there are many banana trees. And choose a banana tree to cut it for making krathongs. We only need banana trunks and banana leafs.

We cut this banana tree. In addition to getting the banana trunks and banana leafs, we also harvest the bananas.

When we get the banana trunks and banana leafs, we clean the banana trunks and banana leafs. And put the banana trunks and banana leafs out in the sun to to dry and soft. These are the prepare things to making the base of the krathong.

Once we have all the things for making the krathong base. We picked many kinds of flowers in the home garden and longan plantation. These flowers are for decorating krathongs.

My wife cut banana leafs and put them in plastic bags for our son and granddaughter. And there were flowers, incense sticks and candles too. And she made the krathong base for her granddaughter first.

In the afternoon we brought things for making krathongs of our son and granddaughter to keep at school for the children to make krathongs tomorrow. But we stopped for lunch first. Today we eat noodles. The noodle shop is in another village. And we have to drive.
