Hello everyone. Sukhothai Province is located in the lower northern of Thailand. This province is a province with an important and interesting history. Because it used to be the location of the Sukhothai Kingdom. Which is the first ancient kingdom of Thailand, about 866 years ago.
At present, Sukhothai is home to many archaeological site in the area of the province. Especially ancient temples that have been restored and temples that are archaeological site. Until sukhothai historical park and si satchanalai historical park in this province have been declared a world heritage.

Me and my wife have been to Sukhothai province many times and we have visited sukhothai historical park and si satchanalai historical park. I have shared many temples in this province in many posts. And this post, I want to share an ancient temples which is the archaeological site in si satchanalai historical park again.
There are 3 ancient temples that I want to share this post with. All temples are in si satchanalai historical park. But all 3 temples are located outside the ancient city zone of si satchanalai.

The first temple is the archaeological site of Wat Viharn Soong. Wat Viharn Soong has no information or evidence. Therefore, it is not known when this temple was built. At present, this temple is an ancient site, only the buddha image hall (viharn) of the temple remains in quite good condition. And all 3 pagodas of the temple that can only see the foundation of the pagoda.

The second ancient temple is archaeological site of Wat Lookkaew. This temple has no evidence or information about temple as does Wat Viharn Soong. The ancient architecture seen of this temple has a buddha image hall (viharn). Today only the foundation and pillars remain, which are built of laterite. Behind the buddha image hall (viharn) are the remains of a pagoda. The square-shaped stupa left only the foundation and middle of the pagoda. The area around the temple is forested like Wat Viharn Soong.

The third archaeological site I want to share is Wat Rahu. This temple was built during the Sukhothai - Ayutthaya period. The ancient architecture that can be seen in this temple is the buddha image hall (viharn) with only pillars and foundations remaining. Behind the buddha image hall (viharn) there is a lotus bud shaped pagoda. Which is in relatively perfect condition, Even though it was built hundreds of years ago. According to information, this pagoda is the highest in Si Satchanalai city, about 19 meters high. In addition, inside the temple there is a small lotus bud-shaped pagoda and two small round-shaped pagodas. The area around the temple is a forest.
