The Strength of Powerful Guilds - Splinterlands Brawls

avatar

Aside from the increased rewards offered by high-level guilds, one notable advantage is the ability to choose multiple GLADIUS cards in a brawl and even prevent your opponent from selecting a specific card through banning. The following example highlights how the exclusion of a particular card can significantly impact the outcome of a game, ultimately shifting the tide in one's favor.

BATTLES

GAME 1

Magic monsters were prohibited in the first game, prompting me to employ MYLOR CROWLING to counter melee damage monsters. Additionally, I utilized MYCELIC INFANTRY to create a diversion and provide ample time for my SNEAK monsters to eliminate the enemy's backline.

GAME 2

The second game restricted the use of only range and magic monsters. To maximize this ruleset, I opted for a lineup comprising five magic damage monsters and included a tank with MAGIC REFLECT to counter magic attacks. As my summoner, I chose IMMORTALIS to further enhance my magic-focused strategy. However, the enemy's lineup, featuring DJINN OSHANNUS and MERDAALI GUARDIAN, effectively withstood my offensive onslaught and resulted in my defeat.

GAME 3

In the third game, the ruleset negated the armor of our monsters. Taking advantage of this, I assembled an offensive-oriented melee lineup, incorporating two monsters with the OPPORTUNITY ability to target and eliminate weaker opponents. Additionally, I included a TAUNT monster to counteract enemy attacks. Leveraging the capabilities of my OPPORTUNITY monsters, I gained a numerical advantage and emerged victorious in the game.

GAME 4

In the fourth game, I took a gamble by anticipating the enemy to choose either a MELEE/MAGIC lineup. To counter this, I strategically selected MYLOR CROWLING and MUSHROOM SEER. However, my prediction turned out to be incorrect as the enemy opted for a heavy range lineup instead. Despite this unexpected turn of events, my lineup boasted a higher damage output compared to the enemy, allowing me to overpower them and emerge victorious in the game.

GAME 5

The opponent and I had a similar lineup consisting of magic damage monsters and tanks. However, the key difference was my choice of four tanks compared to the enemy's three tanks and three damage dealers. This highlights the effectiveness of a more defensive lineup in terms of mana cap and ruleset, ultimately leading to my victory in the game.

GAME 6

Fix my grammar

I opted for an aggressive lineup, selecting three monsters with the OPPORTUNITY ability to counteract the effects of the AIMLESS ruleset. To further enhance my offensive capabilities, I chose KELYA to increase the speed of my monsters. Lastly, I included NOA THE JUST in my lineup for their ability RUST, which removes the physical armor of enemy monsters, enabling my damage dealers to eliminate them more swiftly.

GAME 7

I had limited options in the final game, as the enemy banned QUORA. Taking a risk, I placed KHEMER PRINCESS in the first position and GRUND in the last position to utilize the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ruleset, allowing GRUND to eliminate multiple monsters in a single round. However, QUORA proved to be the superior 1v1 monster, and I suffered a complete defeat.

AFTERWORDS

Banning cards in brawls truly provides a significant advantage, as demonstrated in my final game. With the FRAY 1 ruleset, mana cap, and limited options, I faced slim chances of winning. Although I anticipated the enemy's selection of QUORA, I had no viable options to counter it. My best strategy was to secure a draw by choosing QUORA myself, but with its ban, I found myself at a disadvantage and ultimately lost the game.
