The IMPORTANCE of SUMMONER - BATTLE MAGE SECRETS
I will be sharing one of my battles from our Splinterlands brawls, featuring the FEROCITY ruleset. This game will highlight the significance of your choice of summoner, as a single summoner can completely transform the stre of a deck with similar monsters.

RULESETS OF THE GAME
Ferocity
All Monsters have the Fury ability.
Odd Ones Out
Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.
Wands Out
Only Monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles.
With the WANDS OUT and ODD ONES OUT ruleset in play, my options for choosing monsters were quite limited. Therefore, my primary objective was to rent a summoner that would grant me a significant advantage against magic damage monsters. I aimed to create a well-balanced lineup that possessed strong offensive and defensive capabilities.
SUMMONER
GRANDMASTER RATHE is the ideal summoner for this game because of his powerful ability, VOID ARMOR, which not only grants +1 armor to my monsters but also enhances their defensive capabilities. This advantage will give me an upper hand in the battle.
TANKS
IZIAR is an incredibly formidable tank in this match, thanks to his abilities TAUNT and VOID. With these abilities, he can divert the enemy's attention towards himself, protecting my other monsters from taking damage. His role is to withstand the attacks of the enemy damage dealers, allowing my own damage dealers to eliminate the enemy monsters effectively.
TEMPLE PRIEST can serve as a tank in my lineup, and I strategically positioned him in the second position. He is considered one of the expendable monsters, which means if my main tank falls, he can step up and take on the role of tanking for the team.
UTILITY/SUPPORTS
ADELADE BRIGHTWING, with her REPAIR ability, is a crucial support in my lineup. She significantly prolongs the survival of my frontline monsters, increasing their durability and effectiveness in battle. By keeping my key units alive and in top form, ADELADE BRIGHTWING greatly enhances the overall strength and resilience of my team.
DJINN RENOVA serves as both a support and damage dealer in my lineup. Her STRENGTHEN ability grants all of my monsters +1 HP, enhancing their survivability. Additionally, her 2 speed and 2 damage make her a valuable contributor to the team's offensive capabilities. With her versatile role, DJINN RENOVA becomes a key asset in both supporting and dealing damage throughout the battle.
MAGIC DAMAGE DEALERS
CAPTAIN KATIE takes on the role of my primary damage dealer. With her 3 magic damage, she can swiftly eliminate low-HP enemies in just two rounds. Additionally, her SNIPE ability enables her to bypass the first-position monster and directly target weaker opponents. This lethal combination of high damage and strategic targeting makes CAPTAIN KATIE a formidable force on the battlefield.
SCAVO TECHNOMANCER contributes to the damage output in my lineup with its potent BLAST ability. Positioned in the first slot, this monster inflicts damage not only to its immediate target but also to the adjacent monster.
In the matchup between my GRANDMASTER RATHE and FRANZ RUFFMANE, both of us opted for defensive summoners that provide our monsters with +1 armor. However, thanks to the advantageous ruleset, I have the upper hand with a stronger summoner and a greater number of monsters on the battlefield.
In the first round, we traded damage, and due to my summoner's ability VOID ARMOR and our numerical advantage, I was able to almost defeat his tank while keeping all of my monsters in a healthy state.
In the second round, I successfully eliminated two of his monsters without losing any of my own, thanks to ADELADE's ability REPAIR, which significantly prolonged the lifespan of my tank IZIAR.
With the final round being 6 vs 2 and him without any remaining tanks, my monsters easily secured the victory and brought the game to a successful conclusion.
AFTERTHOUGHTS
Choosing your summoner should be the initial strategy when forming your lineup. It is crucial to ensure compatibility and synergy between your summoner and monsters. Additionally, it is important to select a summoner that will provide an advantage based on the ruleset of the game. By carefully considering your summoner choice and its alignment with your monsters and the ruleset, you can establish a strong foundation for success in battles.
