Contact sports that I fear
Greetings!
I love sports, especially contact sports, because of how fiery they are, but I can't see myself participating in them because of how scary they appear to me. Even something as "easy" as football (if it really appears easy), I can't see myself playing because those injuries and the roughness are just too eye-catching.
Of all of them, the one that appears the scariest to me is rugby. Boxing and wrestling were supposed to top the list, but those two, especially wrestling, seem staged (as is still being debated). On the other hand, boxing is a fighting sport, but the constant interruptions by the referee spoil it for me. I would have preferred a nonstop beating scenario and the person that half-killed the opponent becomes the winner
For rugby—hey, it's the worst of contact sports! It's technically a ball sport, but it's more of a fight. I always wonder what the person who introduced the sport was thinking when they created it.
Should more regulations be applied to these sports?
Like I said earlier, sports like wrestling and boxing should be done with fewer cautioning rules because they are fighting sports, and they should appear very real and entertaining. But sports like football and rugby should attract more cautioning rules because, with the way they risk their lives on the pitch, it makes one wonder if they have extra lives for a sport that's not even a fighting sport.
There are some injuries I see in football games that shock me, and I wonder how the players survive such hard hits. Sometimes I conclude that it's because they have access to top medical professionals, which is why they go all out, risking their lives in the harshness of football. But come to think of it, one could actually die from those injuries if they affect a very delicate part of the human body.
I remember watching a football match where a player completely collapsed on the pitch. They had to pause the match and rush the player to the side for medical attention. Those scenarios tickle my mind a lot.
In the game of rugby, that's on another level entirely. It's basically fighting for the ball, and players will go to any extent to hit down an opponent to get it. This makes me wonder a lot. Even if I could somehow manage to engage in football, I could never dream of taking part in rugby. What a game!
I know this is the nature of the game, but it's just too dangerous, and the sport's management should look into it. That said, I know it has been reviewed numerous times, and they're fine with the pattern, especially the danger, which they consider the main fun of the game.
South Africans are one of the countries excelling in this sport, and I keep wondering how, out of all the beautiful sports on this planet, they settled on such a dangerous and harsh game. We must give huge kudos to them.
Thanks for reading.
Nice share
