VIKINGS (MY PERFECT MOVIE)
I'm a huge fan of history, action, mystical, war, and dramatic genres. I also prefer watching a series rather than watching a full movie. At first the game of thrones series was the most badass series I ever followed, I had drafted fictional stories upon stories out of it, that it was as though I was overly obsessed with it in my mind. When the game of thrones series ended, it was as though my mind needed something to hold on to, I'm not one to watch a movie or series twice, so I couldn't watch the game of thrones series again. I started looking for alternative series online that were relatively rated as game of thrones and that was how I came to know about the series Vikings.
Vikings for me was more intense in brutality and war than game of thrones, probably why I loved it even better than game of thrones series. The game of thrones series was a story about kingdoms, power and strategies with no clue as to where the storyline was driving to until it ended. It wasn't a phenomenal end anyway but it was an end after all and for me the end was satisfying but still not what I wanted. The Vikings series wasn't also satisfying, but the storyline before the end was lit for me. I loved the Ragnar Lothbrok character so much that I it was hard to get past his death. I loved how he rose from nothing gave himself a name to be feared so much that even those closest to him were feared also.
His death came as a shock, his madness and depression for me was more shocking, but I respected the writers of the series for not making anyone indispendable as we see in a lot of movies. It was hard to tell who the protagonist truly was in the series as the storyline wasn't built around a person, but around the name VIKINGS. I love that they were men ready to die not minding what their lives worth in order to achieve their desired purpose. Ragnarok Lothbrok was the first man to do this at first and he rose until he became corrupted with fame and power and fell as a result.
His son's for me were spoiled kids who just wanted to grow into their fathers shoes not knowing they had pretty big shoes to feel in. Bjorn Ironside was one who I expected so much from, but unfortunately he died because of his stupidity and pride even though great prophecies had gone before him. He had potential to fulfill those prophecies but his pride killed him before he had the opportunity to fulfill them. Ivar the Boneless was my favorite villain in that series, he was a true son of his father but went rogue because he was looked down on and emotionally abused because he was lame. I feel ignoring Ivar was one of the most important mistakes Ragnar made, and all his son's suffered from it. Another character I gave an applause to was Rollo, he was impulsive, but smart enough to leave his brother's shadow and pave a way for himself and his bloodline.
I stopped following the series after Bjorn's death, I could not bear to watch it anymore lol. I really thought he would love up to his father's legacy and probably do more. But he disappointed me 😂. The series for me shows lessons of how men struggle to make it in life only to end up falling right back from where they started or even worse when they become greedy and power minded. It also teaches us to appreciate any gift life gives us as rewards of hard work instead of trying to acquire more out of greed. The necessity to keep that which you have secured before going for more and knowing when to run and when to be brave can never be overemphasized. I could write an epistle about lessons from the series, but I will end here so as not to make this post too long.

The movie is also one of the underrated movie out there, due to my unserious self I haven't been able to watch the movie but everytime I come across a short clip of the movie, it has alot of motivational talk, betrayal and lot of thing... It's good movie actually
Yes you are right. It's really underated.
I think it's time to watch all season
I also watched the movie till the end😅, after Ragnar died it affected the fans a lot because a lot of people liked his personality and perspective about the concept of religion. He was one of the first people that said "humans should not fight on behalf of gods or religion, we should allow the gods to fight for themselves" he was one of the first Viking in the movie to get baptized😅, even though it was a plot to loot England to the extent he even faked his own death to invade a nation with his burial ceremony 😂😅.
His perspective about religion was the reason why he had a fall out with floki.
After Bjorn's death a lot of amazing things happened, I wished you had continued to watch the movie, though his death was caused by Ivan the boneless but Ragnar son's eventually rose to become warriors also.
Well the movie inspired another Viking series called Viking Valhalla, it is a movie that is more interesting than Vikings
Yes I heard of Vikings Valhalla. But the trauma of the last Vikings didn't allow me watch.
I might now have to finish it first to get rid of the trauma😂
Yeah exactly
Yay! 🤗
