SPLINTERLANDS SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE (ANOTHER STRATEGY)
It’s another social media challenge week, and this week I will be talking about some other strategy I have used to win. So last week I talked about some positioning strategies that got me a well deserved win in the flying ruleset, and today I will be explaining the positioning in another area and another strategy. We all know the splinterlands game is a game of strategies, and if you must win you must understand the ruleset very well, anticipate your opponent's strategy and from that understanding create a strategy that should work. If you are lucky, you beat your opponent to a great strategy, and if you are not, you learn your opponent's strategy. The tons of losses I’ve had has made me a bit experienced in some strategic areas especially when I meet strong players. I wouldn’t say I’m a strong player myself, But i try to survive the majority of them as much as I can, making me a little above average.
Beginning with the rule set of this battle, magic attacks can not be used, all monsters are also given the cripple and reflection shield ability. This means that a hit reduces an extra one health of each monster, this rule alone meant I had to use monsters with plenty of health especially in the first position, but noticing my mana cap of 45, I need to make sure that whatever monster I pick, falls within the mana cap after filling all positions. The third ruleset on the reflection shield makes thorns, magic reflect, corrosive ward and blast ability useless. This simply means What I should figure out is a way to slow down my opponent while I do major damage. And for this to work I needed monsters with the opportunity abilities but then again, like I said last week, speed is always necessary.
When I saw wave brood, I immediately got the idea of distracting my opponent by diverting all the attacks to one monster who can take the fall, while I attack with monsters that can do lethal damage. This strategy puts my opponent at a very big disadvantage because they become a bit slow, and they can only attack one of my monsters giving the rest an opportunity to attack and destroy from within. The major mistake my opponent made was using fast monsters with little health. This meant my literal attacks would kill ast not mind their speed. But then again, I made them a bit slow hoping they don’t have any monsters with the ambush ability.
Although my opponent attacked first, the attack wasn’t as bad as mine that killed on a first strike. This was the plan all along and because of the small health of my opponents monsters, I was able to take down my opponent without putting much effort into attacks as my opponent did me. The thorns were completely useless against me, as I killed with no more than four strikes. I think if my opponents cards had enough health and attacks I wouldn’t stand a chance, so it’s mainly about trying to anticipate an opponent to come up with the right strategy.
Truth be told the splinterlands game is very unpredictable, but that’s just what makes it fun and if you think you will like to try out all the amazing experiences, feel free to join in here
