MAKING THE TOUGH CALL

(Edited)

Times come in our lives when we need to make the tough call. Bad things happen, and when they do whatever decision we make we have to live with. I'm one who's not quick in making decisions because I love to analyze every decision I make, think thoroughly whether or not I will be ready to live with whatever decision I want to make. It's never easy to make the tough call because it always requires a sacrifice and if you aren't sure you are ready to make such sacrifices, then you should think twice before making the decision. This was one of the few things life has taught me of which I shared in my last post (you can check it out if you like.)

A month ago, I was faced with a situation that required me to make the tough call. My project defense was so approaching really fast and I was still down on bills. I was required to build a Bluetooth automated system, alongside that I needed to write the theoretical aspect of the project. I've also needed to change my old phone which had developed major faults making it not suitable for use. The money I was having with me could barely pay for any of my urgent needs. Running my calculations, I needed a total of 100,000 naira (Currently $100) to get everything done to a point. I planned to get components of my project work, by paying only a deposit, then I used the rest of the money to get a phone. The company I was working with was owing me for two months, and I wasn't sure they would even pay me for that month.

With no help coming from anywhere, I decided to make the tough call of taking a loan. I took a loan of 110,000 naira which I managed everywell in settling my bills. The interest was very high, it required me to pay a total of 30,000 naira monthly ($30). After looking at the whole situation, I decided I was going to take the risk with the plan to pay the monthly interest by balancing up whatever I got from my office work with my hive earnings. Unfortunately I had to quit my job at the end of last month after the delay in salary payment and focus on just hive. I'm still looking to get another job which is not easy, but now putting in more work to meet up with the monthly payments.

I was supposed to renew the loan payment on the 2nd of November, but I wasn't able to because I had no choice but to pay an emergency fee at school to my project supervisor. Although I managed to pay 10,000 naira ($10) before the deadline of this month, and another 10,000 naira yesterday after the loan company called me threatening to subject me to character defamation which would mean calling up everyone in my contact list, and giving me a bad credit record. After making yesterday's payment, I asked the loan representatives to give me to Friday to balance up for this month of which he agreed only for them to send me a message today asking I complete my payment before 1:pm.

Now I do not regret making the decision to get the phone, or any decisions I made because I knew the consequences of the decisions I was making which if I had time on my hands, I would have been able to still meet up with these payments. Now I have doubled my efforts on hive being my only income source, I had to scrape my HBD and hive assets clean yesterday in order to meet up with the payment, but I believe this too will pass, and I will tell the story of how I came out to it.

THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO THE HIVE GHANA PROMPT FOR WEEK 23.

Okay, don't let those people put pressure on you, it is their normal law to send that warning to their debtors. Why I am saying this is that, not like you are not doing something to pay them off, you are, so since you have spoken to them, I think you should not put pressure on yourself and work at your pace to pay them up by Friday.

This phase will pass and one day when you sit to think about it, you will smile at yourself because you did something.

This is beautiful

I’m so sorry you had to make this decision in a hurry. It is well and I am definitely sure this will pass soon and you will just speak of it as a testimony.
I pray you scale through this.
All the best

I don't know why some employers finds it difficult to pay their employees. I am so sorry you are going through this.

I pray you will get through it and settle those loan companies.

Hmmm!! This is another phase of life, just don't let it weigh you down. There are times when we don't have options than to take risks as this. My advice for you is, use the phone wisely, thank God you are already on hive, you can get the money to settle your loan through the phone. So give it your best shot and please stay away from loan next time. Like, that interest is too high.

Yes, this will surely pass. This is a tough call indeed and soon, it would be history and a testimony to share. God will step in for you. Also, keep working hard on Hive and you will be able to pay your loan completely. I popped in through #dreemport
