ENJOYING NATURE
Yesterday I talked about a bucket list of things I wish to do if I ever get to go camping, and like I stated yesterday I would always choose camping over having to spend my holidays in a nice fancy city hotel, not because I don't like city hotels, as a matter of fact, if I have money to spoil myself, I would first of all think about spoiling myself in a luxurious hotel with lots of food and everything money can buy. But then when you talk about adventures of which I happen to be a very adventurous person, I would prefer staying in the woods so I could experience the beauty of nature first hand. Nature has a lot that we can use to comfortably enjoy life, we just need to be able to maximize the resources nature has provided.
One great adventure I would so much love to try out is surviving in the woods with all that nature has to offer. Let's start with living in a cave, learning to hunt, making food with wild vegetables and bush meat. Eating naturally grown healthy fruits but most of all not worrying about everything I have to worry about day to day. As much as I love the life that technology and innovation has provided us with, I would still love to try out what it means to fully experience nature for a month at least. I might even go as far as using animal skin as clothing for the cold, but I might need to learn how to use herbs as medicine.
Everything I just talked about might seem ancient, but truth be told they are the free gifts nature has provided us with. It's funny how the earth has everything it takes to replenish itself, and even with the amount of harm human negligence has done, somehow nature finds its balance and tries to be fair. Looking at the natural resources that has led to global warming and all, nature finds a way to make life conducive for us to live in, although it comes with the whole consequences of having artificial inventions around like harsh climate and inconsistent whether conditions, but then you realize that these whether conditions still finds a way to come through.
In Nigeria for example, the harmattan season usually starts around November and ends in January, but lately it starts around late December and extends to March with inconsistent weather conditions over this period of time. It's sad that humans have turned the gifts nature provided into weapons that have claimed lives, but then if we all can understand that harnessing the gifts of nature can not be done selfishly, we will be able to build a world everyone can live in. Nature is beautiful already, but ambitious men are the reason nature sometimes fights against us. I remember traveling to my hometown that is remotely excluded from civilization. I noticed that although the people were poor, they were happy and loved in peace, this simply shows how much joy nature can provide and it is something a lot of us have never and may never experience.
