Dave's Arrangements

Everything has been organised and arranged for him, and the other night RIP.ie released his death notice and shared the details of his wake and funeral.

I love this picture of the two of us together, and it was a great moment captured.

This day in particular was really good. We decided to re-record our first album, and it happened that a friend was going to be down with his camera, and asked if he could take some snaps and kind of document the day.

We said it was cool, and for the whole day, he just had free reign to wander around and snap some shots. For the most part, we didn't even realise he was there. Everyone was doing some music, smoking some joints, and having a few beers. There were some great laughs, and we ended up doing some cool stuff with the old songs.

These pictures are from about 6 years ago, btw. We never actually did anything with them, apart from the fact that they were used as a compilation for one of our music videos.

We wanted to get a few band shots together just before he left, and this is one I like.

On the right is Danny, the middle is my dad, the left is me, and in front is Dave.

Dave, out of his box, stepping into the box, to record some vox.

This is a really nice one of Danny and Dave.

The day in it was brilliant craic, and I'm glad we have these photos. There are about 70 in total, and all of them are brilliant.

Dave, having a good think.

There is a lot of texture in these shots, and because he was just there doing his thing, nobody actually noticed they were being photographed in the majority of them.

Me, whacked out of it, with a deer in the headlights look after spotting the camera.

I think this shot is unreal, and it's such an interesting one of him and my dad.

This is a prime example of how the nights tended to be, whether playing a gig, recording or just doing a jam.

We'd rarely remember all the minor details but would be left with a general feeling of happiness based purely on the laughs we had. It wasn't uncommon to wake up with sore sides the next day.

Also, this entire photoshoot is basically an advertisement for Heineken.

The arrangements of the funeral have been made. Tomorrow night from 6-8 is the wake, and then Friday morning at 12 is the funeral. We're going to go down earlier though, and have a bottle by the river and wait for people to arrive. We can have a chat, and talk about him, while also settling the nerves a bit. If he was still here, he'd be down the river with us.

We have set up a GoFundMe to help cover its costs, €3,500, and within 2 hours, we're nearly there. I'm going to drop a link here, and if anyone feels like throwing a few quid towards it, it would be much appreciated, but I don't feel obligated to do so.
