Life Leech is a double-trouble ability. A great deal ability in the long run battle or in the face of face-to-face battle. This is a battle experience where Life Leech turn the card iinto powerhouse and overpower my opponent. You can find the battle link here https://next.splinterlands.com/battle/sm_YzNArBgWOHhoX567i9YK

FORMATION

This is a tournament battle for Silver league. Broken Arrows is the only ruleset. All Splinters are available except for Water and Earth Splinters. I decided to go with Lorkus and avail on its melee and magic damage buff. I also bring Dark Arborist to utilize Demoralize for only 4 mana. For my frontline, I rely on Halfling Refugee and Ferox Defender. I don't expect much from Halfling excep to use it as cannon fodder for only 1 mana. My glass canon come from Sorriel The Bale which bestowed with Life Leech and Affliction. The Affliction will be useful to counter Tank Heal brought by Meriput Magician. I put Tenyii Striker and Silent Sha-Vi in between Sorriel The Bale to protect it from any danger.

My opponent decided Franz Ruffmane with Captain Katie as its gladiator choice. A level 4 Captain Katie possess 4 damage which put a great threat even if its score kill just once. Their frontline consist of Drybone Barbarian and Stitch Leech. The flimsy frontline open a great opportunity for my formation to quickly reach into Captain Katie. The the rear squad consit of single magic damage cards, where most of them are Support cards.

Ruffmane armor buff really hinder Tenyii Striker and Silent Sha-Vi from quickly mow down the rear cards. Drybone Barbarian with its Retaliate easily mow down Halfling Refugee scoring its first kill. And even Captain Katie with its Snipe just an inch away from bringing donw Sorriel The Bale. But here's where Life Leech become a key victory. Sorriel The Bale being buffed to 3 magic damage gain advantage from the rounded-up leech effect; and thus absorbing 2 times 2 health, restoring it back to max health. With Drybone Barbarian health depleted, it took a single blow by Ferox Defender to bring it down, and there gone the 9 mana.

This is the first time I saw Mimic ability activated. Olivia The Brook took the Affliction from Sorriel The Bale, which unfortunately are rather useless. Meriput finally gone away by Silent Sha-Vi. Sorriel The Bale got mow down by Captain Katie but quickly regain back its health from killing Stitch Leech. But the second attack only grants +1 health. It seemed the Life Leech will depend on the remaining health of the target. When Stitch Leech only left with 1 health, Sorriel The Bale only gain +1 health even if the battle show 3 damage is discharged. With Captain Katie moving to first row, I felt a little bit safe for Sorriel The Bale.

The 3rd round become my formation slipped away of what would become a turning tide. Ferox Defender which left with 5 health almost obliterated by Captain Katie. This halt her way to claim Bloodlust. As the momentum goes, Sorriel The Bale make its act casting double magic which slay Captain Katie. Once Silent Shave-Vi eliminate Olivia The Brook, its only a matter of time for the rest to take down Spirit Hoarder.

CONCLUSION

This is one of the great example how Life Leech could turn into deadly `Tanker` strategy. Life Leech add health based on the reduced health being rounded up. Which means at 5 damage, the total sucked would be 3 health. And this health is added to the max health, which means in the long run any card could turn into a `Tanker`. And it show how Life Leech work very well with Double Strike which sucked the health even more.
