For Water Splinter, we will be introduced with 7 (seven) new cards. They will bring new colors to the gameplay. Here's my opinion on each the new cards.

GIANT ALPINE SINK

Giant Alpine Skink and Drybone Megalodon are both make the primary Tanker addition into the collection. With comparatively equal 8 mana cost, Giant Alpine Skink might be a little bit more powerful with Shield ability and 4 damage gained at only level 2. Giant Alipe Skink diverge into much better defensive card in the latter level, having Phase and 5 Speed at max level, while unfortunately 4 damage is the most it could deliver

MAR TOREN TRADER

Similar to several others 3 mana cards, we also seen Mar Toren Trader start as low profile card which later grow into more powerful card. Headwinds at level 4 is the main goals of having this card. Its the most mana efficient card to have Headwinds at Bronze and Silver League. Other than that Mar Toren Trader only useful to absorb damage supported with Heal but rather at max level.

COMMANDER SLADE

If Giant Alpine Skink and Drybone Megalodon is the penultimate Tanker, then Commander Slade would be the ultimate Tanker for the Rebellion editions. They are on different mana level which is true. But seeing the 6 speed combined with Dodge, thick plated armor, and mountain of health; we could agree that this card is almost invicible! Not to count the Backfire ability and max level! Only magic which able to penetrate the armor, which easily mitigated with by any pllayers. The 5 damage also would make this card a powerful siege engine considering the 6 speed would put accuracy into certainty.
And its unbelieveable to have this powerful card fall into Normal rarity card. Its easily accesible to any players and we would see this cards become favorite choices in higher mana cap battle.

RAZORHOUND

This card is not your best choice of artillery support as its too powerless to be called a glass cannon. The only thing important of this card is the Strengthen ability, and again its not the best card with this ability. One thing for sure, its your still the best choice to have Strengthen for Water Splinter. True Strike are less useful with only 3 damage at most which gained at latter level. Other than that the level of health and seemed to justify this card only to survive as long as possible to keep Strengthen active.

SHOCK TROOPER

image.png

This card has the simplest Debilitation card. Electrified basically deal 1 damage to all allied units each round. Its should be suitable for mid to high mana cap battle, where high health cards being deployed, thus the 1 damage effect is diminished. The 4 magic damage at 4 mana cost is a great bargain and great trade-off for the Electrified. And even the addition of Swiftness and extra damage at latter stage boost this card even more. But still, similar to other Debilitation card, this card is much better used with strategy on short run battle.

ENDLESS GIBBON

image.png

These new Rewards collection have brought the first 1 mana cards for the Rebellion editions. And compared to the 1 mana from previous Chaos Legion, these one are more offensive in nature. Previously Fire Splinter has Surly Drunk with Opportunity and now Endless Gibbon bring with itself Reach. Not much I would say, as Endless Gibbon has the similar parameter status and growth as Surly Drunk only the difference is in the ability. But compared to the Chaos Legion, these 1 mana cards seemed to lower in term of parameter status.

SERGEANT GRAUZRAL

Finally the legendary card for Water Splinter, and its quite disappointment to have 2 damage for 6 mana. We know that its rare to see ranged card with Opportunity (Counteess Sinash and Lira The Dark are the others). But still this card are rather no good as artillery support. Blast is the only thing which eleavte this card equal to Countess Sinash. But with damage upgrade gained at max level, its almost impossible to utilize the best utility of this card at lower leagues.

VERDICT

In my own opinion, I would declare these are the pecking order of the cards above from the best to the least and considering their specialization:

  1. Commander Slade
  2. Giant Alpine Skink
  3. Shock Trooper
  4. Mar Torren Trade
  5. Sergeant Grauzral
  6. Razorhound
  7. Endless Gibbon
