Food is often considered an avenue where different people celebrate their cultural identity.

La comida a menudo se considera una avenida donde diferentes personas celebran su identidad cultural.

Different foods show different cultural backgrounds and just by looking at certain foods, you can identify their origins, the people who eat them and so much more.

Los diferentes alimentos muestran diferentes antecedentes culturales y con solo mirar ciertos alimentos, puedes identificar sus orígenes, las personas que los comen y mucho más.

For me, I have always had a love/hate relationship with food, from being a picky eater to associating food with weight but this past year, I have come to mend my relationship with food and it has made a whole lot of difference.

Para mí, siempre he tenido una relación de amor/odio con la comida, desde ser quisquilloso con la comida hasta asociar la comida con el peso, pero el año pasado, he llegado a enmendar mi relación con la comida y ha hecho una gran diferencia.

My friend opened a food vendor business last year and I got her to send me some pictures of my favorite foods just to showcase them here as a part of my identity.

Mi amiga abrió un negocio de venta de alimentos el año pasado y conseguí que me enviara algunas fotos de mis comidas favoritas solo para exhibirlas aquí como parte de mi identidad.

The first picture is one of my favorite dishes. Though I don't eat moi-moi that much.

Fried rice, I love it too, sadly I don't eat it enough.

Also not a moi-moi fan but if it is made well, I don't mind it.

hehe I have not tried any of these dishes as I am vegan and gluten-free which limits the options a fair bit in terms of traditional Nigerian food I would think. I think I would need straight vegetable dishes although your moi-moi looks like a vegan option 😊 but then it doesn't seem very popular from the comments 😂

A lot of Nigerian foods sadly aren't vegan at all, rice would be fine but then most would use a chicken stock seasoning cube, even in the moi-moi so yeah.

Moi-moi is nice if made well but a lot of people do not know how to make it well.

Okay okay. I love the pictures! Funny thing I don't like the individual combinations but I like something in every dish.

Are you a picky eater because the combinations aren't that weird, I am picky and I can deal with them.

Yeah, I am picky. The combinations aren't weird I just don't eat them in that order. For example, I prefer moi-moi with jollof rice, not fried. I'd go with plantain for fried rice. Also, I don't eat pasta with stew, I prefer Jollof pasta and I never eat fried yam

How don't you like pasta and stew, that's the only problem I have with you, I understand the rest cause I agree with some but pasta and stew is bae.

I am breaking up with you.

Hahaha, it feels like a waste to me. Plus I don't really like stew, so I only use it with rice.
