VSC Bringing Customizable Smart Contracts to HIVE
Hi, everyone! A very important aspect of blockchain is the ability to create trustless applications and transactions. Smart contracts are a helpful tool for achieving this. They can be expensive to run or very limited, but VSC is bringing Smart Contracts to Hive, a fee-less blockchain that is fast and scalable, and the contracts will be completely customizable.
In this update:
- You can already write Smart Contracts on VSC
- Differences with Lightning Network and HE
- It will allow the creation of pools with different assets deployed on VSC
- Guides, templates, and standardized information will be ready before Hive Fest
If you want to test VSC and start writing your own contract, you can do so now. Vaultec explains that the option is already live; however, documentation and other aspects will be released later.
VSC is more versatile than Lightning Network, which still has its own applications, but VSC is more user-friendly and has a wider variety of use cases. It will work in a similar way to EVM and Solana.
With VSC, more DeFi-centric functionalities will be coming to Hive, catering to a section of our target audience that we haven't fully explored before.
Stay tune to know more about what VSC is building.

Thanks for the explanation @vaultec !
From what I could gather Lightning is more like separate payment channel layers whereas VSC is one layer used to send and receive bitcoin payments. You can also write customizable smart contracts RIGHT NOW!
