Stay Relevant Forever: For You Feed Without Timestamps

avatar

Hi, everyone! We are driving a culture shift on Hive where engagement happens for the sake of engagement, not guided by curation norms. A piece of content can be as relevant in two years as it is today, so we have created a "For You" feed without timestamps.

In this clip:

  • AI will play a significant role in the content served in the "For You" feed
  • Content can remain relevant and enjoyable beyond its payout window
  • We aim to create a positive and personalized engagement experience
  • Improvements will be made in the following weeks

The time spent on social media, whether it is entertaining or educational, should be enjoyable for the user. That is why a personalized 'For You' page can improve the experience.

We are accustomed to exploring the latest feed on Hive, guided by payout windows. However, the content there may not always be engaging for us, especially on Threads, which is more fast-paced with new content arriving every minute.

The content we enjoy could have been posted two minutes, two hours, or two days ago, and we would still appreciate it. We are currently improving the functionality of our 'For You' feed. Once LeoAI begins controlling the content served, it will become more personalized and responsive to changes in user activity.

Wow brother this change looks very promising for discovering great content at any time. I think it's going to make Hive more social and bring value to anything we do. However I have a suggestion. Perhaps we could create an actual like button as well besides the Upvote so that for all those that want to show they like the content after 7 days can do so. It me seems unnecessary since we already have Upvote button but likes and dislikes could really help the For You Feed

I think it's a special content creator who writes things which not just of temporal importance, but which will be just as useful and interesting in an year, as they are today. It's great that you are creating a mechanism where their content will be displayed

damn nice! I ran the deadpost initiative for two years to try and solve this problem. Was waiting for someone to integrate an automated solution. Hopefully more eyes on Leo actually lead to payout too through ad rev
