Gothic Style Stacking one more time before resuming my regular fair and feature of fancy silver treasures. DApp to dark mode check, we venture back into the world of the Stacking paranormal and supernatural. For a little context, here's the link to my previous post.

Another selection from my ancient library of cheap thrifted DVD’s is Stephen Sommer’s reboot of the original Universal Studios 1932 American film The Mummy in 1999 starring the American-Canadian actor Brendan Fraser. More an action Indiana Jones styled film that follows the basic premise/plot of Karl Freund’s 1932 horror film.

This 1999 version achieved considerable success in the Box office leading into various entertainment products and a franchise that produced; 2001 The Mummy Returns and 2008 The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. A spinoff series The Scorpion King ran from 2002 to 2018 with six films.

And in typical Hollywood practice, if something makes money, run with it until it doesn’t.

The Mummy 1932 Trailer

The original 1932 film featured the enigmatic Boris Karloff whose name became synonymous with the horror genre plays the role of antagonist Imhotep the ancient mummy in his eternal quest for his lover Anck-es-en-Amon. The Mummy of 1932 was the third release by Universal following the more successful films; Dracula in February of 1931 and Frankenstein. in November 1931.

Since then the Mummy has been remade, rebooted, sequeled, re-sequeled, animated, anime-ed into the Halloween and horror pop culture.

Have I run into Mummies in my Ghost Hunting?

Ha ha.

Actually twice.

First time was fourteen years ago when my children and I were treated for a client paid two week holiday cruise to Alaska. The kids joined into the ship's child care program running an Egyptian theme. My elder boy was wrapped up in toilet paper from head to foot into an adorable mummy and he had a blast.
My apologies, I can't find the photo.

Second time was at an awesome Beyond Tutankhamun exhibit in November 2022 at the Vancouver Convention center. The tickets were over $30 each plus tax for adults, considering us meeting with ancient royalty this was a bargain.

How will I be Celebrating Halloween?

I will be handing out the treats to kids of any age at the door.

I don't get a lot of Trick or Treaters here in my hood. A lot of old folks live here rather than young families and I'm up a hill. I don't think very many young families can afford the $million+ price tags and taxes.

So far, I have given away a Dogecoin for a 'Trick or Treat' on the LOH Discord. I have more to giveaway! So don't forget to say, "Trick or treat" on Discord.

Thanks sis! I just did say it hoping it's not too late! I'm always behind, lol!

At least you might get a few. Halloween used to be a really big thing back when we lived in Ohio, and not just for our kids! I would dress up in a total witch's costume AND we'd deck the house and shrubs out with the typical spider infestation, but what really rocked the neighborhood was we would take our huge Technique Speakers (which we still have-42" tall each) and place them in the windows we'd open up. Then, we'd get the 12" vinyl record of the Haunted House Sounds and play it on the stereo turned up real loud. I'd have an assortment of Jack-O-Lanterns carved, usually around 15 of them or so, and we'd scare everyone! It was awesome!

When we moved away to Colorado, we owned a ranchette in an area of many of them, and it was just too rural and too far away. Everyone went to the town of Gunnison proper to do their trick or treating.

Here, the rural thing applies again. Too much effort and too few kids.

I had to pay an extra fun premium for these. A few retailers in Canada import Scottsdale products but don't compete in prices or product. One will have coins, the other bars. Otherwise most Stackers are better off getting the Vortex or Classic bars, and leave these for the crazier ones. 🎃
