Back again to PeakD, and waiting for LeoFinance Devs to fix the latest crop of annoying bugs plaguing my enjoyment of Hive content. Most problematic was the frequent appearance of the ever popular red ‘Application Error’ screen which has been upgraded to the ‘Something went wrong’ white screen, an improvement.😒

I’ve been lying low the past dozen or so days trying to do a mental reset, re-balance personal priorities and get back missed sleep and into better shape. Caring for my Roommate , my Mom’s affairs, and dealing with the home repairs over the last 18 months, the stress and strain does take a toll. Now, to get some 'Me' time.

Instagram is notorious in triggering my Stackitus with all the wicked pirate silver pours, private minted booty and Gothic fashions. Temptation may be my enemy so I try not to hang around there too long. Perfect timing now that @dfinney had just revived our #sgs Instagram account.

Now down to this surprise package from Nyssacat. I got it the other month in the mail originally addressed from Hong Kong, Ben of HK Colonial. It felt heavy 😊 Like a 10 tael weight silver BAR! Curious I opened it on my first coffee break.

There’s a hidden meaning to this spiritual paper weight, if Buddha is wielding the flaming sword he usually means business. There's some calligraphy on the back but I'm too tired to translate it now. It’s as if he is saying, “Looks like you need a hand.” Sure Budd, I could use some positive Karma. I think he would admire the shiny like this cute little panda coin.

At first I thought it was the fractional Chinese Panda, a colored fractional and not very common but I soon realized that this is North Korean.

After some considerable digging there was not a lot of information on this series, Googled, Duck Ducked, and even Binged there was only one image reference to this 2009 2 Won Panda coin I could find at one website.

Numista, Numismaster and NGC, neither have a complete entry of this coin, suggesting it as a rarity. There is the 2010 version of a different Panda reverse boasting a mintage of 5,000 so extrapolating I would assume a like mintage quantity of 5,000. The actual quantity issued could be another story. A 5k mintage is in itself a low mintage compared with most mints we know, for a tiny economy like North Korea, very little business strike coinage make their way out of the country let alone those of collectable strikes. Ben has not seen many of this series either.

Is it me or does Commerade Panda look a bit sad?

On a recent #ladiesofhive initiative I did mention having a little collection of stuffy Teddy bears many years ago, with one being a large Panda bear. Every time I see a Panda coin, that’s my first memory flash of my Mr. ‘Big Bear.’ 🐼

It's definitely not gold but I've have been to a few temples where the color of gold does accent the interior decore in a spirirual way.

I never knew that either other than base metal coinage, with the 2019 nominal GDP per capita of $650 USD eq. I'd say 35 Korean citizens would have to starve for every silver coin made, imho.
This Buddha would be cooler if it were made of humble 24c gold but we keep in mind that "Buddhism is not just abstinence and asceticism, it is also about the proper management of the earthy goods that we have." If only Kim Jong only practiced Buddhism Korea would a totally different place. Only 1.5% of N.Koreans are Buddist according to Wiki.

Nursing has been my career and it seems so natural to do, even more for a long time friend. I just got on my vacation where I have most of annual physical checkup and exam, catching up on sleep and re establish a normal circadian rhythm among a slew of other matters left over the preceding months including some home fixes.

These coins tend to be real scarce as my Hong Kong connection says, this was the first 2009 Korean Silver Panda he's seen along with a few from other years. We don't really know if 5000 were minted but the actual population of this may be much lower. I checked other Auction sites, there are a few post sales, not much currently on the block.

We went with a different one today. Ashlee didn’t wanna watch a season 4 episode. (Season 4 they tried one hour format) and frankly many of the episodes miss pretty hard. The show was canceled After season 3 then the network called and said we cancelled a one hour show so we’ll bring ya back Rod after all! But it’s gotta be hour format. It worked for a few episodes but yea many it just didn’t and felt like extra filling. They rarely show those on TV except the marathons.

My grand Aunt tried to teach me some Chinese, it was hard enough and I didn't realized at thet I was dyslexic at the time but I managed to learn some Chinese words.
