Gothic Styled Stacking; The Skulls of Character Collection

Tis the month of Haunting, set thy Dapp on Night mode if you dare.๐ŸŒ™

โ€œBlack birds tend to like shiny things.โ€ ~ The Bloody Raven

Introduction

In the Gothic fictional world of the Bloody Raven, Cursed Silver is a form of currency traded in the supernatural realm among independent entities, for contractual obligations, payment in kind, and/or for their own secret clan interests. Just as physical laws govern the real world, so do spirit laws that govern the spiritual realm.

Amongst those that aligned to Nightwalkers (Vampires) cursed silver coinage tend to be the silver of choice. Innocuous and indistinguishable to normal human beings except to those gifted with Aura discernment. Other individuals or Vampire kindred clan factions may prefer other forms. Skulls are one particular choice. That is a silver skull holding a fragment of a human soul, demon, charm, or curse. And often the silver skull takes on a physical attribute of it's victim or resident.

Where to begin? For those that are my newer followers I will first display my favorites and those that have been with me from the beginning perhaps something new. My top three Character pieces.

Number Three

Monarch 2 troy oz. Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls

Front; Marigold Sugar Skull
0.999 Fine Silver, Weight 62.25g
Length 34.4mm x Width 21.5mmm x Thickness 8.8mm
Comes in three other colors.

3D poured silver art inspired in Celebrating the Mexican Holiday: โ€œDia de los Muertos." Some day I will travel down to Mexico to experience this delightful traditional celebration, but I must learn to understand Spanish. Being a Mod on #ladiesofhive is just what the Travel agent ordered.

There is no other substance in the universe that has such a contradictory duality than silver! While silver may have a multitude of useful physical and chemical properties, also having the ability to be imbued with either a curse or a blessing. It is God's money, and at the same time The Devil's metal. ~ Brother Philip of the Celestial Monastery 1688 AD

Number Two

Tynesidesilverโ€™s Glowing Eyes Skull
image.png
Front; Skull face
Length 43mm, Width 28.3mm, Thickness 7.2mm
0.999 Fine Silver (except eyes), Weight 43g
Finish; Brilliant Uncirculated
Quantity made; 2

Hidden in among the silver goodies in a package from Nyssacat373 last fall was this crazy spooky skull with the glow-in-the-dark eyes. Itโ€™s just a perfect addition to the Character skull collection. The evil grin reminds me of a rival Assemite* Vampire (possible Spoiler) Captain Nicolas Mayer the 3rd, of the Phantom Regiment in the Sky Pirates arc.

โ€œChi, or in the modern vernacular, aura is a glow or energy emitted by the object that has distinct character traits perceived by a gifted observer that can identify the Chi as human or demonic, Charm or Curse. Human souls and demonic spirits could exist for an eternity trapped in a piece of silver, I pity those who are imprisoned as such manner, should they be lost in the deep sea, leased be lost forever.โ€ ~ Brother Xing Xing Wu, CEO of Celestial Monastics LLC 1993

Does it glow? Sure, it does.

Number One

Beyridge Designs 1 Troy Oz Matte Skull
image.png
Front, Skull with darkened features
Length 30mm, Width 19mm, Thickness 9.7mm
0.999 Fine Silver, 31.63g
Finish; Matte

Beyridge Designs on Etsy aka., Skullyโ€™s Corner on YouTube. He is no longer on YouTube nor I am able to find him on Etsy either but this handsome Skull is memorable as a prize gift by David Argento in an auction fundraiser for the family of the late Big Lorry. I have documented this at the 5 minute point of this Big Lorry Tribute video.

This skull also has an uncanny semblance to fellow #sgs member, @underground?!

See what I mean, uncanny. Seriously, I hope you are faring well and your hedge bets are in place in this everything-sucking-market Undy. ๐Ÿ’‹

The Mystery Skull(s)

A mystery piece from a Pouring artist on Instagram as Nyssacat373 included this unusual silver item among the goodies he sent. No trademarks or hallmarks. Can this be identified?

Mystery Bullion Skull strip

Front; Skull Strip, Back; blank
Length 66mm x 8mm x 2.4mm
0.999 Fine Silver, Weight 7.07g
Maker; unknown

Iโ€™ve already spent a disproportionate amount of time trying to dig up any information and yielding none. At 7 grams, it may be meant as fractional silver yet not divisible to 9 separate little skulls without a set of pirate side cutters.
This sure makes a nice little bookmark for enchanted books?
I could use some help here.
If you have an idea to the function or utility of this Strip-o-Skulls please put it in the comments below.

As a part of the Gothic Community, as there are very few of us here on Hive, I think so very much, especially those skulls with a unique characteristic. ๐Ÿ’€

Most of the Skulls are 'Coins' per se, but the silver bullion itself is considered legal tender in some US States. Some Skulls available in the market with an official Legal Tender status.
The Silver Pouring artisans are amazing in their own creations, you'd pay more than regular silver skulls but I think these are worth collecting these as ... ~ The Bloody Raven! "Poured Silver is FUN silver!"โ˜ ๏ธ

Pirate silver โ˜ ๏ธ and Gothic Silver ๐Ÿ’€, Skulls suit both themes. I know you have a nice selection of skulls too.
If I had a bigger cash flow, my collection would be much larger. But, I got a plan to stick to.

I don't know very many Gothic Stackers but plenty of Pirate Stackers. The Skulls fit both themes well, especially near Halloween.

This kind of bullion is a bit of a niche category but I love it. Of course there are subtle differences between skulls and a Jolly Roger.

I really don't have any Wiccan books but I got a few journals of sailors and naval figures. This is a First Edition 1967 adaption of The Yankee, an American Privateer during the 1812 War.

Yes silver is God's money, I can read them in the Bible. Jesus was sold by His disciple Judas in just 20 pieces of silver if im not mistaken.

Yes, It was meant to happen.
Even thought Jesus charged Judas of the Disciple's purse, Judas's god was money. The Sanhedrin and Pharisees bribed Judas with 30 Shekels (Half oz. of silver each) And so he betrays the Son of God for 15 oz. of silver!
Judas eventually realized the gravity of his choice and returned the silver to the Pharisees before he hung himself. The money went to buying a grave plot, The Potter's field.
It's not known what happened to the silver since. Cursed? Perhaps, from the Pharisee's reaction in getting back their blood money. Guilt from the blood of a purely innocent man, the Lamb of God.

I felt sad for Judas because he choose to kill himself out of guilt rather than ask forgiveness and do good.

The love of money is the root of evil in the mind of Judas that time.

I started not very long after I began Stacking gold and silver back before 2015 when I realize that our Economic system is destined to fail. Other than ordinary Silver coins I put away in savings, I then started collecting the odd different silver for fun and at the same time meet my savings objectives.
My crazier Goth years are behind me but I still have my dark side.
One day I will go to Mexico and celebrate a genuine, "Day of the Dead" Holiday.

Just make sure to sign us up on the Mexico City Mint Tour. The oldest mint in the world, it should have an amazing museum wing.
