Music Friday: Dancing Bee - Week 6
Hello, fellow club music lovers! Another week is over and it's time for the sixth edition of the Dancing Bee playlist with the most interesting finds of the week. Spring has finally sprung - it's warm, pleasant and maximally positive, so I'll try to raise your spirits for the coming weekend.
Let's start with the Dutch studio musician, vocalist Mike Chandon), and his fellow producer Noah Bryce, who with their project Moodssupply do absolutely fantastic things with funk, disco and house. I love that kind of groove and intense bass.
American Grammy nominated musician Curtis Richa, who lives in New York City, is ready to tear up the club dancefloors this spring and presented a new single "Turn It Around" in which he turned to classic soulful house and melodic techno. Just awesome stuff!
German musician Orang Utan is closely cooperating with WWF and has promised to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sales of the single "Who's your love?" to protect real orangutans in Borneo. Probably the most fun way to do something good.
American DJ Scottie Soul is a true veteran of the house scene and having started performing in the early 90's in Hawaii and Japan, he has been in great creative shape for over 30 years, and recently presented a killer track "Shinkansen Sunday" dedicated to the legendary Japanese high-speed train.
The talented Seattle-based remixer and producer behind the Trapback project is working on his full-length debut album and has introduced the single "Woman" built around a repeating voice sample. quite a contender for the title of one of the top summer house party anthems.
I love good anime and I can't get past the new single "Growth" by American musician Darryl Kirshner and his project Bases, inspired by the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli
Dutch musician Loudar, signed to labellove FiXT Neon is a big fan of the Lobro show on Twitch and this week presented his version of its title theme, turned into a real neon adventure in galaxies far, far away.
Retro-futurism, music inspired by neon 80s and space romance does not hurry to give up positions and among synthwave innovations of this spring I can't help but notice the new full-length album "Voyager" of the American musician Trent Walton. The title track is just cosmos!
St. Petersburg musician, incorrigible romantic FAMITSU, resident of Hyperboloid and INTERNETGHETTO labels, active member of the ghetto community "Birch" has landed in the catalog of Contre Jour Records label with a new future garage track "Neuve Chapelle". Surprisingly mellow experimental electronica.
In the early 2000's I was strongly influenced by jungle/ drum & bass music and of course I can't pass by the classic track "Inner City Life" by the legendary DJ Goldie, which got a re-mastered version this spring. The vocals are of heavenly beauty and the sound is fantastically inventive.
