Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 220 ~ Private Schooling, the best
Homeschooling, public school, or private schooling...which do you feel is the best and why? Use your own photos.
As a teacher, a subject teacher actually who has taught in a public school while serving his country (NYSC), currently teaching in a private school sector and has been into it for years now, and also does home lessons/schooling for most children, my answer will be based on my experiences I have heard in the job.
So, as I said, based on my experience as a teacher who has had a taste of all of the three mentioned above, I feel private schooling is the best because, in a private school, the aims and objectives of education are usually attained. The teachers are focused and fixed on making sure that the children or pupils are taught based on the scheme of work and that they understand what needs to be understood.
The child is exposed to every expected curriculum content as much as it is in the scheme (psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains) which helps the child develop and grow well. No child is left to learn just the written work, they also get to do extra-curricular activities with their pairs and make friends with people around and this helps them grow and learn faster.
In private schooling, the number of students in a particular class is smaller compared to public schooling and this helps students learn better as they can ask questions from both the teacher and their fellow students who they know understand a better subject than they do.
Due to the smaller class sizes in private schools, learners can get more personal attention and individual support for their education as well from the teachers and their fellow students.
We all know that private school is a one-man business compared to public schools owned by the government, so one of the goals of any standard private school is to make sure their students can represent them anywhere they are called upon, this makes private schools offer specialized curricula and a more rigorous academic curriculum to help equip their learners.
Unlike public schools where teachers can decide to be absent for no reason because they mostly do not have direct contact with whomever owns the school, the teachers in private schools are likely to be in class because they have someone following up their ass and wanting a report every week from them about how the students are coping and, as a result, get to spend more time in class with their learners on instructional activities than public school teachers.
Most public schools do not other than give the learners a scheme or subject area of concentration and the students do the job of researching or reading up on their own, private schools make sure to teach their learners the basics they need to know, give them space to explore that makes research and read more on the topic for better and wider knowledge of the topic.
Private schools are more focused than public schools, that is they create extra classes to offer their learners more insight and prepare them for college or advanced schooling because they want or expect higher academic performance from them.
Thank you
In my country now, parents who have more money use private schools to their children. The public school budget is cheap but the program is not better.
Yeah, that's true.
In my country, public school is free but the activities are nothing to write home about.
