They started again! Pumpkin Thief! Fast and Early Harvest

avatar
I thought it was over. I thought it would never happen again. However, someone did something bad to my pumpkin crop; they even managed to steal the biggest one.

Although I was forced to harvest my crop early, it may have been for the better. Had I waited longer, it might have been stolen, but by harvesting early, I prevented that possibility. Unfortunately, it weighed 5 kilograms less than it could have if I had harvested it at the optimal time. Furthermore, it seems that only one person stole my vegetables and pumpkins, and they must have been someone who loved them, possibly an Indian.

Every year, my pumpkin gets stolen, so this time I'm determined to do something about it. I'm planning to buy a solar-powered fake CCTV camera as a deterrent. I checked on Amazon, and it seems like a good option since it's affordable.

The pictures I shared illustrate the small size of my place and how limited the space is. As a result, it's easy for someone to steal the vegetables they want.

Despite the risk of theft, I'm happy with my crop this year as it has yielded many fruits. I plan to share them with my friends and neighbors and even include some additional vegetables such as tomatoes and bitter gourd.

In the coming days or weeks, I will remove the pumpkin and prepare a replacement. I plan to start growing watermelon next. However, before that, I need to fix the arbor structure that the watermelon will grow on, making it easier to harvest in the future.

The photos I took turned out well because I used my new Samsung S23 Ultra mobile phone. Of course, I'm not the one who paid for it - my wife did. LOL

I'm still getting used to this new phone because of its many functions. I've been searching for a while now on how to set the timer to 10 seconds.

However, I am taking them one by one to share with my friends and neighbors. I believe in the saying, 'It is better to take action than to take advantage of others.'

I am referring to the thieves who have been stealing my crops.

My only advice to those who received it is to not let the pumpkin stay for longer than three days after cutting it, as it will become soft, spoil, and go to waste.

I am still feeling sorry because the pumpkin had the potential to grow even larger and weigh more than 5 kilos.

When I arrived home, I immediately took off my shoes and slippers and grabbed a knife to harvest all of the pumpkin fruits before it got too dark, as it was already 5:40 in the afternoon.

As I mentioned earlier, it turns out that there are actually two different varieties of pumpkin, which can be distinguished by their appearance and color.

In reality, there were actually nine pumpkins in total. The first one was reserved for us to cook and use in a dish, but unfortunately, the second pumpkin was stolen. I also gave one pumpkin to our neighbor who happened to pass by, so now there are only six remaining.

As you can see in the pictures, each pumpkin weighs at least 3.5 kilos, and some of them even reach 4 to 5 kilos, particularly towards the end of the harvest month. It's highly unlikely for a pumpkin to weigh more than five kilos.

I'm really happy with my new phone. The camera takes high-quality pictures that are so clear, even the smallest details can be seen when you zoom in.

I hope you enjoyed what I shared today. Next, I'm planning to prepare watermelon and chili. I'm also eagerly waiting for my eggplant plant to bear fruit.

I understand how you feel, how sad to have your efforts taken advantage of. Maybe later your harvest will be so successful that you won't even remember the theft of your pumpkin. And the project you have to secure your crops, may it be successful. Greetings and we'll keep reading here. 👋

Thank you, @rigel-gladys. I'm just going to continue with my crops, and this week, I'm planning to plant watermelons for this summer.

I am really sorry you lost your pumpkin to thieves. I hope the fake CCTV might help. You did a great work to grow and care for these pumpkkins. I admire your kind heart too as you plan to give to neighbors. Amazing pumpkin 3.5-5 kilos, waooh. Congrats on your new phone too.

Do you know you can share short posts and pictures of your farm on Threads. Threads is a place for farmers like you. Its a place to have fun, engage, and make new friends when you share short posts there, just like twitter. Hive garden is already on threads and would be looking to support you too.

Thank you. I am having trouble with LEO FINANCE because I keep getting downvoted by "adamada". He seems to still be upset with me from more than 5 years ago when he overpowered "hiveph". He is very proud and arrogant.

Don't worry about that user, they don't have any Leo Power and it doesn't matter if he downvotes you @kennyroy! :D

I actually found your blog because Charles (fokusnow) shares it on a Thread!

Threads are fun, simple and easy to use, you should give it a try! Why don't you start by checking the Threads where Charles mentions you :)

Thank you. Actually, these fruits were intended for other people and a reservation was made for them, but some of them were stolen. ^_^
