Effort & Success: There should be no feeling of dejection.

This is the time of the year when people, especially those who sufficiently aimed high, would have to put a question mark somewhere. It's the time to ask yourself important questions about your performance and the result you got for pushing yourself so hard.

For the most part and as far as I can tell, aiming so high comes with an awful lot of positives. It gives you purpose and a target to work towards. Very often, having your eyes on this target will make it so much easier for you to be well-focused in your hunt for success.

The dicey thing here is that it has become fairly obvious that even when you give your all and when you give everything, you can still be ending the year with so many disappointments. You may not have been able to hit your goals for the year and you may even be ending the year in a worse financial position than how it was when you started it.

That can be seen as a sign of stagnancy for some people and a sign of failure for others. It can be demoralizing to look back and get this feeling that a particular moment in your life was a waste despite all the effort you made to aim high.

That's the case, right?

Let's look at it from this angle;

It's possible you didn't achieve much this year despite doing a lot of work. But, it may be hasty to term it a failed year just because you didn't achieve your goals. How about you try to recount your steps? There will always be lessons to be learned from your hustle and bustle for the year. You can see ways to do things better than you've been doing.

Remember, this doesn't have anything to do with being naively optimistic about success. It takes so much effort to be successful and you will always notice that having a goal and working towards achieving the goal may not be enough to help you succeed. You know, as far as 'effort and success' are concerned, the devil is always in the details.

Whatever the case may be, as far as you are doing what's sufficiently necessary to achieve your goals, you owe it to yourself to never allow feelings of dejection to get in the way of your happiness. If anything, you should be inspired and invigorated in equal proportion. Try again... And again.

Hopefully, next year will be a better one than this year.

The funny thing about life is that, what made you to consider the year as a failed year is what someone else might use to consider this year as a successful year..lol..

Yeah. That's the case for most people. It's a dicey conclusion to reach by the stretch of any imagination. Hehe

an inspiring read that doesn't put pressure on the reader as to how we should still strive in effort and yet not be too disappointed in not always getting success, i understand it's a work in progress that one needs to personally learn first ☺️ thank you for sharing your wonderful article on this!

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this. It's truly important for us to observe that there are things we could have done better.

At the same time, we don't ever have to beat ourselves up for not succeeding especially when we did what we need to do.
