The Two-Worded Spear [Poetry]

It's Talent Tuesday and I couldn't wait to share with this awesome community a small piece that I wrote some months ago. I subscribed a while back to this community but wasn't sure of what to post here. Thankfully, I saw the Talent Tuesdays & Taco Tuesdays on the FreeCompliments Community post this morning and new it was time to show up here. Thank you for having me.

One of my talents is weaving random words into poetry or fiction as my heart leads, and hope they make sense at the end. I don't often get it right! Cut me a slack, I'm human. Hehe. My fiction may take unexpected turns and read better as poetry and vice versa. So excuse me if perhaps this piece would be better consumed as fiction. Still, I hope you enjoy this free verse poetry.

A buzz from the sleek mobile
Reveals a two-worded spear
"It's over"
And straight it pierces through
Into the chunky, blood-pumping organ
That keeps him alive

Cold and lifeless
The words on the screen appear
The impact spreading like wildfire
Ripping, leaving jagged edges
In the depths of his soul
Tearing apart the emotions

His glowing embers fizzles out
Where once light and laughter
Danced in harmony
Affection and care abound
Now shadows and bitterness sizzle
Freezing his heart into tiny ice pellets

A wispy touch of another
Meets the charred remains of the organ
It's a bottomless chasm of unbelief
Light arrives glowing and fresh
Breaking the chains of regret
And now he's bold to love again.
