The instant our eyes met,
A bond was formed
That would weave through our lives
Nurturing our connection
Onto eternity

For every word spoken
Thoughts, silent and unformed
The bond strengthens
The connection transformed
Into a timeless kinship bond

As a youngling from a whole
I became
The intricate parts of you
A woven tapestry of my life
As the magic of our connection unfolds

It should be a lifetime
Yet nothing lasts so
Your humour, your belly laughs,
Your heart, authentic and contradictory
Marks an unforgettable existence

In a dazed state
Your hopes, dreams and fears
A flashing scene before my eyes
A rage builds in my heart
As I contemplate the power of time.

Lasts about 14 years after which they grow up and become surly teenagers. Beautiful poem about the love and bond between a parent and a child.
