A Bond Pure And Sincere [Poetry]

A tear of the young drops
Like the start of a hesitant rain
She's six and her eyes glow
With innocence and love
Until her mother starts to dress
In neat clothings for an occasion

"May I come?" She asks
Her pouty lips stretches into a smile
Her eyelids flutter like delicate butterflies
A bribe perhaps
To melt the hardest of hearts
And charm the strongest of souls

"Stay home, darling," Mother whispers gently
Her young lips tremble
As her hopes are quietly dashed
Confusion stirs in her wide eyes
Why would her mother not yearn
For her presence always?

The bond of a mother and child
Pure and sincere
The hustles of life calls for a separation
Temporary yet strange to this child
And unacceptable to her young heart
A testimony of a love so tender

The tears flow unceasingly
As she watches her first love from the windows
Walk away from their sanctuary
Like she would never return again
A taste of loss and pain
For such a young soul

Screams of delight echo in the house
The sweet sounds of her mother's voice
Reaches her small ears
Her heart's flame is back home
Into her mother's arms she runs
Like she'd been gone for a thousand days

I spent the better part of my day on babysitting duty! It was a favour to a friend because her regulars were out of town and her daughter was done with exams in school. So I moved my schedule around and agreed to help take care of her daughter until she returned.

My heart broke as this little girl wouldn't let her mom go. My friend said her daughter does this every time so she's forced to slip away unnoticed unless the girl was in school. I tried to console her, it didn't work neither did my bribery attempts with sweets and ice cream. After a while, she fell asleep with dried tears on her face, intermittently hiccuping.

I was touched and decided to pen down my experience. I know this experience is a common one with children (I did same too as a child) but it felt new and unique, making me appreciate the bond between a mother and child.

These are spectacular verses dear Kemmy. The bond between a growing child and its mother is a really pure one.

However, what amazes me the most is how you flawlessly drew inspiration from such an experience. I liked each line and how straight to the point each verse was; conveying a message.

Nice read.
It's true that a child's first love is the mother and the bond between a mother and her child is a beautiful one I really admire. A growing child needs his/her mother by the side for guidance through life. A child will always feel incomplete when the mother is away and receives a satisfactory joy when mother is back.

It is necessary for mothers to be there for their children, to listen to what they have to share with them about anything they have experienced. Also, a mother needs to pay attention to the changes in her child.

Wow, this is awesome, I am pretty speechless and shocked at the awesomeness of this write up, you conveyed each sentence beautifully, and I could literally relate to it, It is indeed a fact that a child's first love is his/her mother and the bond of a mother and her child is not only beautiful but special. This is so beautiful. I know little kids that are attached to their parents like that. It's usually heart wrenching to watch, but the joy on their faces when said parents come back is gold.
