Blog #202: The Unexpected Quick Adventure To Original Casaroro Falls
Happy Tuesday Hivers!
Three days ago I went to Bureau of Internal Revenue for a TIN verification since I will be back to the corporate world soon. I thought the process would take long so I went there early in the morning. I was amazed as I finished it less than 30 minutes.
Out of the blue before 9:00 in the morning, I received a text message from a friend and suddenly we both agreed to have a quick adventure to one of the enchanting waterfalls in Valencia, Negros Oriental. Since I'd already finished my errand, I immediately went to our meeting place.
Do you know what? I like unexpected adventure because usually it would truly pursue. So let's begin the unexpected quick adventure to Original Casaroro Falls.
I was confused as my friend told me that there is an Original Casaroro Falls. I informed him that I already went there once and showed him my photographs. That morning he suddenly rectified me because the Casaroro Falls and the Original Casaroro Falls are truly different so that morning he took me to Original Casaroro Falls which I haven't visited yet.
From Valencia proper, my friend drove his own motorbike with me to the mountaineous part of Valencia. As we arrived, he parked his motorbike to the entrance area and we gave php50.00 as our donation to the person who maintains the area. That man is known as Kuya Tottyn. Kuya Tottyn asked us if we need help going to the falls but my friend refused since he already knew where it is located.
After talking with Kuya Tottyn, we started walking going to the falls and while I enjoyed sight seeing I suddenly took glimpse at this stunning mountain.
I immediately asked my friend to capture a photograph of me with that stunning mountain as my background.
After having a short break, we then started to descend the improvised stair.
Kuya Tottyn's initiative and smart move turned this pathway into a better one. The stair is made of different kind of sacks with full of sand. Although the railing he used is still not safe because of no budget but it is much better compared to no railing.
The deep cliff beside the pathway is a sight that maybe to some gives a creepy scenery. If someone have a fear of heights, I don't know if they can manage to walk in this not safe pathway.
Some rocks are slippery due to the mosses that have grown around it. What I can suggest is to be mentally present while hiking the pathway going to the Original Casaroro Falls. It would be a big mess if you're not careful.
We continued hiking and we just only followed the small pathway. I kept asking to my friend if we already near since I already heard the flowing water.
He only answered me to just keep walking. And what I had in mind that time was maybe we're still far. I'm not a hard headed individual so I followed what he instructed to me.
I was already panting as we arrived in this area but delighted because the water is already visible. Curiousity drove me to ask my friend if that small native house is inhabited. He said "Yes". Have you seen the house?
The intense excitement arose as we come nearer to the falls. I know we're already near because of this river beside us.
This sight absolutely overjoys me as it made me relax. The sound of the water that naturally flows on the river definitely gives me peace.
The murmured of my friend awakens me from my daydreaming because he complained that I walk very slow 🤣🤣🤣. I just gave him a smile as he pouted his lips.
How could someone refused to stay longer here if this truly helps you find peace.
Again, we walked to another slippery pathway and I tried to focus my mind to every steps that I took because I don't want to get accident.
I stared to my friend first as he instructed me to cross under these 2 big rocks. But since I did not move, he had overtaken me. I was scared because it was dark.
I immediately followed him. He suggested to have a photograph of myself under the big rocks but I did not buy the idea 😅😅.
After crossing the big rocks, this sight greeted us. There were many rocks on the pathway, luckily they were not slippery. We hiked again under bushes.
And when we crossed this river, I was not able to hold my excitement, I stopped and I gave my phone to my friend, I smiled and striked a pose. The river and the greenery behind me made the place so much fresh.
We crossed to this handcrafted bridge. It is made of bamboo. Kuya Tottyn made this so that the guests can easily cross without their feet get wet.
I was panted and I asked my friend to take rest first before we will continue our mini adventure.
He agreed because he too felt tired. After few minutes, we continued hiking and hey we've finally seen the enchanting tall waterfalls.
After almost 2 kilometers of hike, we were able to see the beauty of Original Casaroro Falls.
The feeling of tiredness was eventually disappeared and was replaced by genuine happiness.
I went closer to the falls but not too close because you'll really get wet if you do. The water from the waterfalls will truly sprinkle you when you come closer.
I sat down infront of the falls and breathe. I realized how lucky I am for this great opportunity, to be with nature. Not everyone has given this opportunity right?
I stayed their for few minutes, I just sat down with full of gratitude in my heart. I stared it and let my two eyes become full of seeing this stunning beauty of nature.
As we checked the time, it was almost 12:00 noon so we hurriedly got up and left the area.
After this mini quick adventure I am looking forward to more adventures to come with my friends.
That was my unexpected quick adventure story to Original Casaroro Falls.
