NEEEDLEWORK || My first WIP finished 🧶🧶
The original idea of this project was to make a hat with a nice popon, however, the yarn was not enough for that. This is the first time that I make this model of hat that is knitted in a horizontal way forming a rectangle and then with the sewing I give it the shape of a hat. It is a pattern that I like very much because of the relief that forms the elastic stitch and because these hats are quite warm.
Although it is a very simple pattern and only the half double crochet is used, my difficulty was to always keep the same amount of stitches in each round. When I'm knitting I go into my thoughts and with this kind of pattern I usually knit in automatic, so in some rows I knit an extra stitch and in others I skipped a stitch, so the rectangle was not staying straight. So I had to unknit some rows and knit again, this time, paying more attention to the pattern.
The other inconvenience that I had with this hat was that the wool was not enough to make it bigger and to put the pompom on it. I worked with a 100-gram ball of thick yarn, which I had in my box, and I really didn't want to go out and buy another one. So it occurred to me to change the original idea and make a hat with ears.
The idea of ears came to mind when I remembered the post by @imena, in which she shares a cute hat with cute little ears. Thanks to your instructions I was able to complete this project. Although the final result was not as beautiful as @imena's, I am happy that I was able to solve it without having to buy another ball of yarn.
This is the first of my projects for the WIP challenge, but the last project of my personal challenge in which I had to work exclusively with the material available at home. In order to complete my next WIPs I will need to go shopping for the necessary material.
Saludos y bendiciones.

what a beautiful hat with ears🤣🤗
Thanks so much
Adding those ears makes it so cute @kattycrochet. 🥰
That is also my mistake before, when crocheting a rectangular shape, I skipped a stitch continuously until I noticed the sloping sides of rectangle or made some extra stitches on each sides. And I guess, every crocheter/knitter had experienced it too.
Congrats on finishing the 1st wip, and good luck on the next one. God bless. 🥰
Oh, yes I think it is a commmon mistake when crocheting.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

Saludos.
Oh I love those ears!! It really adds even more cuteness to it. Congratulations on your first finish! Whoo Hoo!!
I’ve been there too with accidentally adding in extra stitches. It’s always great when we catch it early on.
Alright, looking forward to see you continue progressing!! 😃
My original idea was to add a "pompón" but it looks great with the ears.
Thanks so much to encourage us. 🤗
Absolutely!! 😘
Great job weldon, keep up we're expecting more unfinished WIP from your side @kattycrochet thanks for sharing
Thanks so much
This is extremely beautiful with the idea of the ears you added to it, it makes your creatively exptional, thanks @kattycrochet for sharing the completion of one of your WIP project, looking forward to see more.
Thanks so much.

Hello @Kattycrochet, I congratulate you for finishing your first wip project, it is very tender, I like it. Keep on achieving your goals.
Que hermoso le ha quedado! Me encantó el resultado! Un abrazo mi bella amiga!
Yeah, congratulation on your stash-busting. Your hat is super nice and the little ears are so cute and special. I looove it (May I ask, do you have currently winter? I am not good in geography/weather)
And with the pattern of hdc… I feel you. When I crochet this pattern I always use a stitch marker to mark the last and the first stitch of the row to not accidentally loose stitches.
