Feliz y bendecido NeedleWorkMonday queridos amigos, es un placer volver a compartir un nuevo Lunes creativo con todos ustedes. El fin de semana estuve de viaje y no pude avanzar con mis proyectos tejidos. Sin embargo, el día de hoy me tomé un tiempo para elaborar el proyecto que les comparto a continuación. Se trata de un tapiz colgante elaborado con la técnica de macramé.

Happy and blessed NeedleWorkMonday dear friends, it is a pleasure to share another creative Monday with all of you. Over the weekend I was traveling and could not move forward with my knitted projects. However, today I took some time to elaborate the project I share with you below. It is a hanging tapestry made with the macramé technique.

Desde hace un tiempo vengo disfrutando de los increíbles colgantes en macramé que elabora nuestra compañera @irenenavarroart y desde entonces he sentido la curiosidad de conocer más sobre esta técnica. Los colgantes de Irene son realmente obras de arte dignas de una exposición, al verlos pensaba en el grado de dificultad de estos tapices, sin embargo, también he visto los proyectos de su pequeño hijo Rafael, el cual, obviamente heredó el talento de su madre para el arte, quien nos ha compartido proyectos más sencillos. Sinceramente los colgantes de Rafael me animaron a intentarlo y a perder el miedo. Sin embargo, decidí iniciar con algo mucho más básico y más simple para no frustrarme en el camino.

For some time now I have been enjoying the incredible macramé pendants made by our colleague @irenenavarroart and since then I have been curious to learn more about this technique. Irene's pendants are really works of art worthy of an exhibition, when I saw them I thought about the degree of difficulty of these tapestries, however, I have also seen the projects of her young son Rafael, who obviously inherited his mother's talent for art, who has shared with us simpler projects. Honestly, Rafael's pendants encouraged me to try and lose my fear. However, I decided to start with something much more basic and simpler so as not to get frustrated along the way.

Lo primero que hice fue buscar tutoriales para principiantes y fue así como encontré un video con este sencillo tapiz. El patrón es el de un gato, lo cual me pareció genial porque así le podía hacer homenaje a mi querido gato Giorno. Además de ver el tutorial varias veces, también estuve practicando los nudos que se utilizan en este tipo de tapiz.

El hilo que utilice es macramé acrílico de 2mm de grosor en los colores blanco y gris plomo.

The first thing I did was to look for tutorials for beginners and that's how I found a video with this simple tapestry. The pattern is that of a cat, which I thought was great because I could pay homage to my beloved cat Giorno. Besides watching the tutorial several times, I was also practicing the knots used in this type of tapestry.
The thread I used is 2mm thick acrylic macramé in the colors white and lead gray.

Aunque trabajé siguiendo paso a paso el videotutorial y el gráfico del patrón, debo confesar que me equivoqué varias veces y tuve que destejer. Tengo que decir que al principio me estresé un poco porque sentía que no avanzaba tan rápido como suelo hacerlo con el crochet, pero luego tuve paciencia y traté de disfrutar el proceso. Esta es una técnica muy entretenida, pero se debe trabajar con mucha concentración para evitar confundirnos en el patrón.

Although I worked step by step following the video tutorial and the pattern chart, I must confess that I made several mistakes and had to unknit. I have to say that at first I was a little stressed because I felt that I was not advancing as fast as I usually do with crochet, but then I was patient and tried to enjoy the process. This is a very fun technique, but you have to work with a lot of concentration to avoid getting confused in the pattern.

Hacer este pequeño tapiz me hizo admirar mucho más el trabajo de Irene y de su pequeño hijo Rafael, ya que ellos elaboran figuras mucho más elaboradas con varios colores diferentes y su trabajo es impecable. Yo apenas estuve trabajando con dos colores y puedo reconocer que debo mejorar muchos detalles para que el resultado quede más prolijo.

Estoy muy contenta por haberme animado a intentar esta técnica y espero seguir aprendiendo este bonito arte.

Making this small tapestry made me admire Irene and her little son Rafael's work much more, since they make much more elaborate figures with several different colors and their work is impeccable. I was just working with two colors and I can recognize that I have to improve many details so that the result is neater.
I am very happy to have been encouraged to try this technique and I hope to continue learning this beautiful art.
