MWM|| Embroidery Nativity Scene
Happy and blessed Needle Monday my dear and cherished Hive friends. We are already very close to celebrate the birth of the baby God and that's why I come with great joy to share the project I was working on during the weekend. It is a small cross stitch embroidered nativity scene.
The nativity scene is what I really love about all the Christmas decorations. I was already working on the main characters with the amigurumi technique, but this time I ventured to make a cross stitch embroidery of such a cute scene. For this I chose a very simple design with an easy to interpret graphic. This same graphic can be used to weave a tapestry with the Tapestry Crochet technique.
This time I used a different fabric than the one I have been using so far, since I could not find the same one in the stores. This fabric has a slightly looser weave, so it frays very easily. To prevent this from happening, I put some glue on the edges and sealed it. The squares of this fabric are also much larger so the figures are also larger. But the finish is not as nice as with the other fabric.
In this scene there are only St. Joseph, the Virgin Mary and the little baby Jesus in the manger. However, in spite of that, the embroidery took me a considerable time to finish it because I still don't have the hoop that is used to press the fabric and to be able to embroider more quickly and comfortably.
I really liked the final result, although I am well aware that it has some details that can be improved. To achieve better finishes in these embroideries I have to keep practicing and that is what I plan to do in the next few days. For now I say goodbye wishing you a nice Christmas week. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
