Bendecida tarde mis apreciados amigos de NeedleworkMonday, me complace volver a saludarles. De todo corazón espero que todo esté yendo muy bien en sus vidas. Hace algunos días que no publicaba por acá, ya que no he tenido mucho tiempo libre para tejer. Aunque tengo varios proyectos sin culminar, decidí hacer una pausa en el crochet para reencontrarme con el bordado, un arte que me encanta y que admiro muchísimo.

Blessed afternoon my dear NeedleworkMonday friends, I am pleased to greet you again. From the bottom of my heart I hope everything is going very well in your lives. It's been a few days since I last posted here, as I haven't had much free time to knit. Although I have several unfinished projects, I decided to take a break from crochet to get back to embroidery, an art that I love and admire very much.

El bordado es un arte que siempre me ha fascinado, pero es una actividad en la que esforzamos mucho la vista y la columna cervical se resiente un poco. Por esta razón siempre le dediqué mucho más tiempo al crochet. La técnica que he practicado desde siempre para hacer proyectos bordados es la técnica de punto de cruz, porque me parece que es la más sencilla, a mi manera de ver.

Embroidery is an art that has always fascinated me, but it is an activity in which we strain our eyes and the cervical spine suffers a little. For this reason I have always dedicated much more time to crochet. The technique that I have always practiced to make embroidery projects is the cross stitch technique, because I think it is the simplest, in my opinion.

Hace unos días me encontré un pedazo de tela de la que se usa para bordar en punto de cruz y me surgieron las ganas de volver a practicar esta linda técnica. Decidí iniciar con proyectos pequeños y sencillos para no abrumarme o sentirme frustrada. Mi primer proyecto de practica es este lindo girasol enmarcado en un cuadrado de color negro. Cabe resaltar que en esta oportunidad no estoy usando las típicas madejas para bordar. Decidí bordar usando hilo crochet de 1mm, para que la figura formada por el punto de cruz sea mucho más notoria y tenga un poco de relieve al tacto.

A few days ago I found a piece of fabric used for cross stitch embroidery and I felt like practicing this beautiful technique again. I decided to start with small and simple projects so as not to get overwhelmed or frustrated. My first practice project is this cute sunflower framed in a black square. It is worth noting that this time I am not using the typical embroidery skeins. I decided to embroider using 1mm crochet thread, so that the figure formed by the cross stitch is much more noticeable and has a little relief to the touch.

Para la técnica de punto de cruz se utilizan gráficos cuadriculados que nos ayudan a formar la figura. después de varios minutos en Pinterest viendo varios diseños, me decidí por el girasol, para romper un poco la tradición que tengo de iniciar cada nueva técnica con una figura de corazón. En esta ocasión quise ser un poco más arriesgada y trabaja con varios colores. Además el girasol es m flor favorita y ya la he tejido de variadas formas, ahora es el momento de hacer uno bordado.

For the cross stitch technique, gridded charts are used to help us form the figure. after several minutes on Pinterest looking at various designs, I decided on the sunflower, to break the tradition I have of starting each new technique with a heart figure. This time I wanted to be a little more risky and work with several colors. Besides the sunflower is my favorite flower and I have already knitted it in various forms, now it's time to make an embroidered one.

En resumen, puedo decir que esperaba que la figura resultara un poco más grande, pero es entendible porque la cuadricula de la tela es bastante pequeña. Creo que es ideal para diseños mucho más elaborados como paisajes o dibujos con más elementos. Por ahora seguiré practicando con figuras pequeñas, las cuales luego pienso unir en un proyecto más completo. Espero que este girasol sea de su agrado. Gracias por leer, saludos y bendiciones.

In summary, I can say that I expected the figure to turn out a bit bigger, but it is understandable because the grid of the fabric is quite small. I think it is ideal for much more elaborate designs such as landscapes or drawings with more elements. Amiga que hermoso bordado, me alegra que estés de vuelta con este trabajo de punto de cruz, súper interesante para las que aún no lo hemos intentado hacer, bordar es demasiado emocionante; sin embargo, no es el mejor amigo de la vista y la columna, por eso yo también lo hago de vez en cuando, aunque me encanta bordar me quedo con la vista borrosa.

It's beauty did meets the eyes, I didn't know that you can do this too after seeing so many crochet work.
So sorry that embroidery hurts a little but the end is always a beauty to behold.
