MWM|| Crochet Watermelon and Passion Fruit
Blessed day dear friends of NeedleWorkMonday. It is a pleasure to come back to the community to share with you my progress with the crocheted fruits project. This time I show you the process of making two very rich and refreshing fruits such as watermelon and passion fruit as they are known in most Latin American countries. In Venezuela we call them Patilla and Parchita.
The most characteristic of these two fruits is that both have many seeds inside, that is why when representing them, either in drawings or crochet, it is convenient to make them as they would look inside so that they can be more easily recognized.
To tell you the truth, I hadn't thought about knitting a patchwork until I saw some ideas on Pinterest that I thought were simple and beautiful.
As for the sideburn, I've already knitted some as appliques for other projects, and I even once made a pot holder in the shape of a sideburn slice that looked pretty good on me.
What I liked most about these fruit patterns that I found on the web, is that they are extremely easy to knit. They are ideal for beginners and can be used for several purposes; the most common would be to use these fruit-shaped fabrics as cute cup holders for the kitchen. If we make them on a larger scale they can function as placemats. They are an eye-catching, colorful and very useful project for the kitchen.
To make these fruits, I only had to knit a circumference of approximately 7 rows, depending on whether the rows are in stockinette stitch or garter stitch. We knit first with the color of the inside of the fruit and then with the color of the border. Finally we make the seeds with the help of a wool needle and black thread.
I'm really happy with this project, I've already made several fruits and I'm still looking for more patterns, since it has been very entertaining and has helped me to take up crochet step by step. For now I say goodbye until the next publication of needlework. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.

Me imagino estos apliques de diferentes frutas sobre un mantel, debe lucir hermoso seguramente.
Esos apliques semejan mucho a las frutas y se ven refrescantes.
