Bendecido Martes mi gente bonita de NeedleWorkMonday. Deseo que se encuentren bien, disfrutando de una hermosa tarde. Por este lado del mundo estamos experimentando un clima bastante extremo. Acá en el oriente del País hemos tenido días muy lluviosos, y otros días sumamente soleados con excesivo calor. De ninguna de las dos maneras apetece salir de casa, por lo que hay que buscar formas de entretenerse y ocuparse sin tener que salir y exponerse al mal tiempo.

Blessed Tuesday my beautiful people of NeedleWorkMonday. I wish you all well, enjoying a beautiful afternoon. On this side of the world we are experiencing quite extreme weather. Here in the east of the country we have had very rainy days, and other extremely sunny days with excessive heat. Neither way we feel like leaving the house, so we have to find ways to entertain and occupy ourselves without having to go out and expose ourselves to bad weather.

Debido a esta situación que les comento, mi madre se aburre bastante y algunas veces manifiesta que quisiera tener algo con lo cual distraerse además de lo que usualmente hace que es coser algunos proyectos sencillos. Resulta que se me ocurrió prestarle algunos de mis libros favoritos para que ella lea cada vez que se sienta con ganas de hacerlo.

Because of this situation, my mother gets quite bored and sometimes says that she would like to have something to distract herself with besides what she usually does, which is sewing some simple projects. I happened to lend her some of my favorite books for her to read whenever she feels like it.

Antes de entregarle los libros para que ella elija cual quiere leer, se me ocurrió tejerle algunos marcadores de pagina o marcalibros, como son más conocidos. En la plataforma Pinterest se pueden encontrar infinidad de diseños, sin embargo, en esta ocasión escogí un diseño florar porque siento que va mucho con su estilo y, por supuesto, también el mío.

Before giving her the books for her to choose which one she wants to read, I thought of knitting her some bookmarks, or bookmarks, as they are better known. On the Pinterest platform you can find an infinite number of designs, however, on this occasion I chose a floral design because I feel that it goes very much with her style and, of course, also with mine.

Este diseño simula ser una pequeña flor que ha sido guardada en un libro por mucho tiempo y ha tomado esta forma un poco aplastada. Yo les confieso que la mayoría de mis libros esconden dentro alguna hoja o pétalos de rosas, ya que me encanta la forma envejecida que toman estos, una vez que llevan varios días guardados dentro del libro, es por ello que los marcalibros tejidos con este tipo de diseño floral me parecieron encantadores.

This design simulates a small flower that has been kept in a book for a long time and has taken this slightly flattened shape. I confess that most of my books hide inside some leaves or rose petals, since I love the aged shape that these take, once they have been kept inside the book for several days, that is why the bookmarks woven with this type of floral design seemed charming to me.

Desde hace 3 años aproximadamente he cambiado los libros físicos por audiolibros, ya que estos me brindan la facilidad de poder hacer otra cosa al mismo tiempo que estoy escuchando el libro. No obstante, los libros ocupan un lugar especial en mi hogar y siempre seré aficionada a la lectura. Los marcalibros tejidos me parecen muy lindos y espero seguir tejiendo otros modelos.

For the last 3 years or so, I have switched from physical books to audiobooks, since they give me the ease of being able to do something else at the same time I am listening to the book. Nevertheless, books have a special place in my home and I will always be a fan of reading. I think the knitted bookmarks are very nice and I hope to continue knitting other models.

I love the concept of how the bookmarks take the shape of flowers that have been left in a book for a long time. I like the colors used and it looks so great. I’m sure your mom already loves them too.

Hola amiga, me gustó mucho el modelo que escogiste para dar a tu madre, están bellos y si se le parecen mucho a las flores envejecidas, también me gustan, incluso fuera de los libros. Por aquí tengo unas rosas secas, que no quiero botar, jejeje.

This is so pretty. The color combination is perfect. Pinterest is one of the best places to get inspiration from and the concept is amazing.

I have always preferred audiobooks too, it is just way better.

querida Katty, siempre es un gusto leerte, espero estés bien. me gustaria que me recxomendaras alguna pagina gratis donde poder conseguir audio libros porque mientras tejo me gusta aprovechar al maximon el tiempo.
el detalle de la flor marchita dentro del libro me hizo acordar de unas cuantas flores que he guardado por ahi, la mas reciente fue una orquidea que me diò mi esposo en un cumpleaños, esas flores son hermosas.

que bueno que le des ese regalo a tu mamà.
