Meta To Add Subscription for Users' Verification - How Hive is Way Ahead

Zuckerberg is about to follow Elon's example, charging users for verified accounts.

Meta announced a new paid verification subscription service called Meta Verified, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Sunday.
For $11.99 a month on the web and $14.99 a month on iOS, users on Instagram and Facebook will be able to submit their government ID and get a blue verification badge.
“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” Zuckerberg wrote in the post.

For me, this is totally crazy. I do not understand why a user should be paying for having a verified profile in any social media. I could only justify this in case the verified users can be eligible i.e. to earn money for their profile visits. Then, I could (maybe) justify being charged for verifying their accounts.

It will be interesting to see how it goes, I think that this will again cause more and more users to fleet from Facebook. The question is with what criteria will they choose the medium to devote their time?

In this post I will share with you my opinion about verification on hive.

If you check out a users' profile, you will see a small number next to their name.

It is called 'reputation' and the higher it is, it means that the user has been here a long time and has produced content that has been curated/upvoted by other users.

For instance: my reputation at the moment is 74

All new users start with 25. If you see a user who has lower than that, it means that they have been downvoted, potentially due to plagiarized content.

Let's assume that someone decides to copy my information, and signs up with a similar username, with the same photo & info as me. You will be able to understand immediately who the imposter is just by checking out the reputation.

This number comes with you everywhere, so even if you simply comment - the reputation of yours appear next to you name!
