Happy LPUD Day and a Question

15th of August today and it is a very important, religious day for us.

It is also, traditionally a day when we power up our $leo !

Before that, let me tell you shortly about a conversation I had a few days ago with a friend.

We were chatting and they asked ..Why is hive dying?

I said that it is not dying, why would they say that ?

They said, because the price is so low - and nobody writes.

I disagreed.. I said, that yes - the activity may have decreased (as it does everytime the price falls) - but I ve been through many ups and downs, to know that it is going to rise again!! Especially with all these things & developments happening.

So I wanted to ask you your opinion. How long are you here? Has price ever affected your activity here?

To me, when the price is low - it kind of makes me happy to earn more hive :) hihi

I would love to know your opinion!

Hive isn’t dying
We’re in the bear market which is normal
Hive will pump up soon but I hope we get to $1 in the next bull market

oh my... my main account signed up to steem in 2016 and has a five digit userID... so I've been around almost since the beginning.

my short sentiment on the market cycles is that the bear market is a good time to build... and the try to sell to the bulls.

as per HIVE specifically, it's tough to say, this is the only blockchain with a dedicated organic community of users that's more than just a marketing audience of speculators... especially since the infamous tron fork... seen from that angle, this project won't die anytime soon I think.

It doesn't help the price, though, that we have a huge inflation and hardly any token sink, well, actually none!

I do see 50ct in the next bull run... maybe even go to around a dollar if things get crazy... but in the long term i think hive prices will trend down.

at some point the technical debt of running this huge monster of a blockchain (in terms of gigabytes) and maintaining an infrastructure of well specced RPCs might become too costly. Eventually this chain will die... but it's going to take a while I think.

I appreciate your opinion and I value the fact that you have been here even before me!
I mostly agree with whatever you have to say, and even if the chain itself stops functioning, I am sure that the devs/witnesses will figure out how to resolve this

Since forever :P Also nope the price hasn't affected my activity here at all, the factors that affect my activity are limited free time and boredom :P
