Exploring the New Content Discovery Engine on Hive. Veews!

Today I decided to test out .. Veews and let you know my .. point of view :)

First of all visit the website and watch the video on the page..

What is Veews?
It is a content discovery engine, trained as per the users' preferences.
At the moment it is hive powered, but the plans are for veews to move beyond the blockchain barriers

You can sign in with @keychain and it makes the whole process so much easier!

After logging in, you immediately see this page where you get to pick the categories you are interested in. The content you will see afterwards will be based on the categories of your interests.

I was using firefox and could not click / select any of these.
(I sent this as feedback and then...)

You will see posts in this format

How to 'train' veews' into showing you more of the content you enjoy

When you thumb up, it means that you enjoy this content so the algorithm will bring more of this type. When you thumb down, it means that you are not interested. You can also click on 'next' for the next post. Attention. Thumbs are not upvotes.

How to upvote

If you scroll, you ll see that you can upvote / comment and do anything you would normally do if you were using your favorite front end!

Bookmarking a post

This is a very interesting feature, you can bookmark a post and then you ll find it in the menu > bookmarks

Sharing your ..veews

One of the best features is that you can directly share a post on three different mediums

  • on leothreads
  • on dBuzz
  • on Twtiter

Sharing a link

It is so easy to share a link, I would like to add though that it would be cool if the author was tagged too. This time I had to tag the author for sharing their post.

Update:
I see now that when I click on a category, it is automatically added.
The question is.. If I add something by mistake? How do I remove it?

You can choose your default vote value in the settings

Final thoughts

I found the site to be quick and easy to use. I think that it has the potential to be one of our favorite frontends in 2023! You can use it to quickly discover (or exclude) interest of your choice and at the same time share it to your favorite platform.

I wish I could understand how we can 'deselect' selected categories, maybe I just cant find that.. Anybody knows?

Thanks to the creators for coming up with a great idea, and making it real!

It's a great tool and I know the team is actively updating it too. I haven't really visited it much though because my focus is more on LeoFinance right now.
