A call from the past
A call from the past brought some memories today.
An unknown mobile phone was calling me. The same number called me yesterday, but only today was it possible to answer.
I heard a voice who told me they were calling from the office I used to work in, many years ago.
They asked me about a case that maybe I knew about, because back then I was responsible for a whole lot. I did not hesitate at all. I thought it over and after a while, I found a solution and advised them what to do.
I remembered my feelings when I left that job. It was one of the toughest professional decisions I had to take.
I learned a lot there. I would dare to say that the business owner was something like a 'mentor' for me. I admired his passion, his vision, the way he handled situations and I still remember his motto.
He used to say one thing..
"If you don't know where you are going, you will never get there" (or something similar, but you get the point)
He is considered one of the most successful businessmen in the city and when I left, I got immediately called by his competitors for an interview. They wanted to know what he was up to, and offered me a high salary to hire them.
Guess what.
I did not accept those offers.
There are a few things that I still remember from the time when I was working there
We should never cry over spilled milk.
This means that if something has already happened, we should not worry about it and destroy our energy. We should think of ways to fix it.
They may know where you've been. But they sure don't know where you are going.
Our actions can be viewed by the public, by everyone. And everyone can find out where we were, what we 've done. But no one, no one can know what we are up to. Our plans, goals, and vision are our most important assets.
What about you?
Would you help a past employer if you were given the chance?
What lessons did you learn in your past job(s?)
Thanks for stopping by!

This is why self-actualization is the dream of mine.
I do not expect anyone to share the same vision with me but I also know that I am the only person in my own life to make it real.
Thanks for opening minds ✌️
You are absolutely right. Thanks! !BEER

.Remembering the past will make us take better decisions in the future. We learn along the way and we should never stop from it!
True.
Lessons not learned will be repeated in the future.
Thanks for dropping by1
Not taking those offers says a lot about you :-)
There are enough others who would. Although in the Netherlands they add a 'competition disclosure' to the contract.
One of the many things I learned and (actually) have been recalled to the past week. Is to scale down. From the very top to the common level. Keeping it simple. So everyone should understand what it is about. Which isn´t always easy :-)
The pasts will actually help us to be mindful and think well about the future
My mum says something that “if you don’t know where you are going to, you should at least know where you are coming from and this deals with thinking about your past experiences
You may need that call to make the right decision.
The past brings a lot, pain, memories or lessons. Glad this call wasnt a probelmatic one, I'd definitely help out if I can even though I didn't learn much..
Sometimes I believe the past can help us to become the better person we need to be in the future
