Market Friday: Bunnies everywhere

Hello everyone,
This is my first time participating in #MarketFriday, which was started by @dswigle.
I love following shopping experiences around the world...what a great idea. Whenever we are abroad (which is sadly far too rare) we go to a supermarket there and check out what's on offer. It is usually the first smallest and easiest step to gain an insight into the (food) culture of the respective country.

But now to my #marketfriday experience.

Since my son's taekwondo club is located in a shopping centre, I now inevitably spend 1 hour 1-2 times a week in this very shopping centre. I have to say that I don't really like shopping centres. The hustle and bustle, the neon lights and the long corridors actually put me off. I also managed to avoid this particular shopping centre for many years. But with the birth of a child, everything changes, and so does my relationship to shopping centres. In the meantime, I consider it practical because I can get everything I need there in a hurry. You can combine grocery shopping with errands from the hardware store, drugstore and clothing store. That saves a lot of time. And if you have especially small children and it's raining all day, you can spend some time in the shopping centre and do some window shopping.

So today I'm taking you to "Werre Park":

So when I was strolling through Werre Park again this week, I noticed the many bunnies everywhere. Chocolate bunnies, fabric bunnies, porcelain bunnies...bunnies everywhere you look.
Next week we celebrate Easter, and this has meanwhile mutated into a real consumer madness. It's already slightly similar in scale to Christmas shopping.
I have captured the Easter madness in pictures for you.
In the drugstore there was a huge shelf crammed from top to bottom with Easter sweets.

So much chocolate...

IMG_20230327_170256-min.jpg

...who is going to eat all this?

IMG_20230327_170311-min.jpg

There were even easter bunny craft kits, similar to the crispy houses at christmas.

... the chocolate madness continues

But now the end of the shelf ;)

It's the same picture in the supermarket next door:

How cheerfully the rabbits all smile. They probably don't know that they will soon be eaten ;)

All those sweets everywhere, do you really need them? I don't think so.
Ok, Easter also marks the end of the fasting period, but that doesn't mean that we should go completely crazy in terms of consumption, does it?
In any case, I find the offer totally exaggerated and ask myself who is supposed to eat all these masses of chocolate and what happens to all the chocolate that is left on the shelves. Everywhere people talk about sustainability, but then we should also slowly start to change our consumption behaviour.

The Easter theme is also present in the bookshop:

But this little bunny is also too cute and felt really soft. I was almost tempted to take him with me, but then resisted the temptation ;)

Now I went to the decoration department, where I was able to admire some unusual bunny specimens.

First the

Poppy bunnies:

Royal Bunnies:

Feathered Bunnies:

Purist Bunnies...

and last but not least of course some golden bunnies...there seems to be something for everyone ;)

And a bit of decoration:

After this tour I am definitely up to date with the latest bunny trends ;) So my luxury for Easter will be spending time with the family, cooking something delicious with you and hopefully getting out into nature.
I hope you enjoyed my first #MarketFriday and have a wonderful weekend!

Wow! I enjoyed bunny shopping with you today :) It's so interesting how stores prepare for Easter. It has become big much like Christmas holiday shopping. I love chocolates, but I hardly consume lots of them. Thank you for sharing all these Easter special. Have a fun weekend!

You tried in resisting grabbing that little bunny, I doubt if I would have 😂. Great shopping experience.

Yes, it was very difficult for me too ;)
My son loves cuddly toys, but he just has enough of them already.

I'm right there with you in thinking all of this is madness! I very, very rarely go to places like that anymore, as the insanity is far too much for me! Such a curiosity to me that people are into that sort of thing! I like your idea for Easter far more appealing! Thanks for sharing the holiday madness! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Welcome to #MarketFriday! So glad to see you here!

Life sure changes when we have children, doesn't it? Your time is not your own, so we are always trying to make the most of the time we have. One-stop shopping is the handiest thing, I would have to agree.

Such a wonderful time showing off all things bunny! :) I was surprised you found so many. I did like the golden bunny! Mountains and mountains of them! When you went to the mall that day, what is it you were shopping for? Unless, of course, it was bunnies! :) I am not sure how much they cost over there for the different ones you looked at, but, do you think the price was expensive or were they great bargains? Which were the cheapest or the most value?

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

1.Go to any type of market, or anywhere where you pay money for a service. It can be a museum, a movie theatre, or an auction. Be creative!
2.Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? We like to compare prices, otherwise, it is just pictures of a market!
3.Post the pictures! No out-of-focus ones, please! Tell a little bit about the pictures that you post. Having many pictures to scroll through does not make a better post without explanation.
4.Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated) If you don't, then #MarketFriday should be your first tag
5.Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
6.#MarketFriday post should be submitted sometime on Friday UTC
7.The post MUST be in English
8.Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
