Happy Caturday: orange cats and the possibility of financial collapse in my country.

I have become less worried about my cats getting fat and putting on weights too fast. I am putting on weights as well, so it would be fair to my orange cats that we ought to start reducing our food consumption together. But the more I tried to force myself to eat less, the more it backfired on me. I became famished at midnight and had to raid my fridge. So, i have decided to be gentle with myself and my cats. We would slowly follow our inner voices as to when to cut down on food or when to keep our routines.

This matter of food made me rather worried how we would manage when the supply chains failed one day. I have been following news on political developments and economic situation in my country. The uncertainty about the future gave me quite a bit of anxiety. So, I had to find out what’s really happening in my country. The main stream media was not very helpful except when I wanted to know the bigger pictures on local politics, rumours and gossips. We had to learn to read between the lines.

Imaginjng that we ran out of both dry and ywet food, I wondered if my cats would accept steamed rice or fried rice with eggs. I guessed we could get some rice and eggs from local villagers. I would probably have to learn to fish in the river to get some protein sources. Would my cats understand the dicey situation in which we are facing. Rival political parties could create the atmosphere riped fo social chaos and possibly riots. Some politicians and activists have threatened street protest if they didn’t like the results.

My cats would have to start hunting to supplement their needs for proteins. I have to practice eating less food per meal on order to survive the lack of food supplies in local market. The cost of living would become very high, so poor people would suffer badly. I wouldn’t be able to visit the temple to feed stray cats either. How life would change by the end of this year.

I have just heard about the BRICS countries would be creating a new reserved currency backed up by gold. So, many political leaders also saw the demise of the US dollars. This eventually would mean upheavals in countries with US dollars as their reserves. People would steal from stores and rob food from others. Travel would be risky for fear of being attacked and robbed. Life would become quite precarious and famine would eventually become a social norm.

I had seen a few riots in the past and I happened to know some people who were involved in supporting or leading the violent confrontation with soldiers and policemen in the city. Gunshots were heard around my old house and buses were seized and commandeered by some angry protesters. Buses and cars were sent on fire to privide barricades against soldiers. It was always a set up and people were used as pawns in their bloody games.

I just hoped history wouldn’t repeat itself but I noted several warnings and threats of bringing people back to the streets. It’s just like some cooks were preparing ingredients for a big meal of sizzling barbecue and roasts. Last week I met a weary young soldier in uniform on the train. I couldn’t help chatting him up and asked where he’s from. He was called to the central headquarters at once; so he had to leave his post in the south without having the time to change into civilian clothes. He was very tired from a very long journey having no proper meals nor sleep. I took a look at him and I asked if he was in the intelligence section. He was very surprised that I knew about his job. I had to tell him that I could be very psychic sometimes and that I wanted to tell him things which could be useful background information. I told him not to believe all that I said, but to do his own investigation.

After listening to my quick brief of some information and some of my predictions of the near future, I could see that his brain got indigestion from information overload. I let him at ease so that he could take a nap. This wasn’t the first time I met intelligence officer on the train. My strange destiny had led me to meet these people including foreign reconnaissant personnel and informant recruiters by chance. An old and famous astrologer told me that I was made for a career in the military or government administration. But I had made the choice to stay away from the old cycles of power grabbing games.

My concern revolves around the preparations for societal troubles in the near future and how to survive when food became unavailable in shopping malls or markets. How could I keep feeding my orange cats in time of difficulties? What kinds of medication I should stock up for myself, gardeners and her family including my orange cats. How are we going to make ends meet when there’ s no more way of earning any income? My brain has been burdened by anxiety for myself, close friends and families. But they all thought I was thinking too much. So, I tried to live in the present and do the best I could under limited resources and capabilities. My orange cats kept me grounded and more realistic in the present dimension.
