Happy Caturday: my orange cats are funny.
Time flew by so fast so I found myself having to try to catch up with time. Though I have been busy all day long, I still couldn’t finish the scheduled tasks. So, sometimes I had to experiment with just letting the flows dictate how I woukd manage my time and activities. This turned out better as I felt less stress and I didn’t feel like being a failure. I looked at my cats and wondered how they managed their daily activities as they seemed to be more successful than me in getting on with routine time management.
Kwan sleeping in her favourite basket. She often slept in strange postures.
My orange cats have grown much bigger over six years. They have developed their own distinctive personalities and habits. The big brother cat has turned out to be a big gentle cat with quiet reserve. He would never complain or protest when things didn’t go his way. He would act like a brave soldier when he was in much pain. He has total trust in me that I woukd never hurt him. So, I could pick him from height without hus resistance. And he wouldn’t use his nails to hold on for security. He would just let me carry him on my shoulder while I climbed down the steps. If Joan was a human, he would be the perfect gentleman with graceful manner.
On the other hand, the smaller sister cat turned our to be lively and talkative. She would complain loudly whenever I left her for the city. Kwan often made me laugh by her antics and the ways she slept. The way she walked with swaying waist also looked very funny to me. That made me thought she ought to be on a diet.
Joan liked to sleep alone on my bed where it’s very quiet and cool throughout the day.
Kwan was always very expressive with her emotions and she often talked to me with her sweet voice. She liked to sit under my chair quietly as if she wanted to keep me company. I thought she showed me her affection quite often by looking at me and blinking her eyelids slowly. Sometimes when she woke up, she would be calling out for me. She behaved as if she was still a little baby. But I was glad that she yrued to communicate with me with her sofr meowing sounds. I thought if she could speak she would become a very talkative cat. Her brother would keep his superior and noble reserve and politeness as usual.
These cats loved to play chase with me in the garden. Sometimes when things seemed to be calm and quiet, Kwan would prepare to pounce on her brother. They would burst into a quick chase and then they would stop to find hiding places for more ambushes. I would tiptoe and double back on the nearest cat so that i could pounce on the cat. This would tutn into me chasing two cats in the garden. That was a funny game we played together in the evening to keep them alert.
At first I thought they would become afraid of me and try to keep a distance. But they knew it was a game we shared together for fun in the evening. I thought that was quite remarkable for orange cats to learn the difference between a game and a really threatening chase by a predator. Joan had developed his way to entice me to give him a massage and tummy rub. He was a sensitive cat with too much consideration on my behalf.
On the other hand, Kwan has learned to call me to do her bidding with her sweet meows. They were quite addicted to the way I massaged their backs. They are getting older as the year went by. I had to start thinking about changing their food for senior cats. So far, Joan has been staying with us, though he would pop into our neighbour’s house briefly. Those fierce brown dogs continued to visit my neighbour’s house. So, that house was no longer safe for Joan.
I had to seal the big holes along the wited fence at the back of our garden to prevent some stray dogs from coming in to chase my cats. The two stray cats still dropped by at night to eat cat food in the kitchen. Luckily they had become less aggressive and knew how to behave as uninvited guests. So, life in the countryside could never be boring with two affectionate orange cats in the house.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.
Oh! I missed our cat, Poppy! Their energy and curiosity know no bounds and their playful antics.. This unpredictable playfulness adds so much charm to their personalities.
