Happy Caturday: late posting again but cats can’t wait.
My sense of time and reality of time seem to have a difficulty in synchronising with everyday activities and tasks. So, I often found myself on the ‘wrong’ day and time of the calendar month. I do hope the time eating monster would stop being do greedy and gobbling up or stealing my time when I am not watchful. But it’s funny how I seem to be the right time and place whenever I have to feed stray cats at the temple. It was as if all these stray cats were sending me very strong vibes to tell me to get organised and go to the temple.
So, I had to stop what I was doing and to gather the bags of cat food and my car key. I tried to be very quiet as I was parking my car. I didn’t want to wake up sleeping cats under some cars and I would need some minutes to prepare food bowls and cat food. But, it seemed three cats seemed to remember the sound of me slamming my car door. These cats would come to greet me as soon as I slammed the car door shut. Some would start meowing loudly thus waking up other cats in the car park.
Recently I discovered two new orange cats turning up at the temple, two by the car park and one big orange cat by the pier. The new stranger at the pier was very famished as if he didn’t have sny food for several days. It was good to see most of the old cats I knew very well in the car park. It would take me twenty minutes to make sure these cats had eaten to their satisfaction. I had to make sure each cat had a turn to a dish of food.
Then the four cats by the riverfront would have their turns of their meals. Spotty (very sweet white cat with a big spot on her back) would growl and threatened other cats. But she was a joker! She just threatened other cat by charging towards other cat without actually scratching the other. Then, she would back off, she was a show off. I had to save her face by carrying her back to the food dish.
Watching hungry cats gobbling up their food was a good therapy about anxiety of the unknown future. These cats made me live in the present and focus on immediate reality. Fuzzy thoughts and anxiety were conjured up in my mind which weren’t physical reality; they were anticipations by thoughts.
During the last three months, I had to feed five kittens belonging to a young mother cat (I call her Tam). These tiny kittens were very shy and timid so I could never get close to them. The last four weeks I prepared a big dish of kitten wet food for these kittens. So, they have started to come closer to me to beg for food. I still couldn’t touch them, I would wait for them to come closer to me. The mother cat had lost some weights as she has been nursing her kittens. I always gave her extra food to nourish her health.
A few days ago, I could get closer to the five kittens and take their photos. The mother cat was watching my every move! I hope these kittens would let me touch them soon, I wanted to give some medicine for their cold. The skinny monk came down to observe how I hid medicine in cat food for some sick cats. He was very interested in my method; I left him a small bag of medicine for helping those cats suffering from cat flu. I offered to prepare some liquid medicine for those cats with very bad cold.
The skinny monk told me that a young monk and his layman friend have been harming cats and hitting them with long sticks. He also sprayed kittens with gardening hoses making them all wet. Bigger cats couldn’t have their dinner in peace. I couldn’t find this aggressive monk for a serious chat. The skinny monk would try to take videos of thir cruel monk next time he came to attack cats and kittens.
Life could never be dulled with almost twenty cats and five kittens. The skinny monk was very kind and attached to these cats which he looked after around his lodging. I hope my medicine would cut down his expenses on taking cats and kittens to see the vet. So, this week these cats have been well fed and looked after. It was such a relief knowing that some monks have been feeding these stray cats. I just hoped that the crazy monk who had been harming these cats would decide to stop his bad karma. Otherwise, I may have to confront him one of these days. Lets hope some temple spirits would give him bad dreams and some warnings about his bad karma.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.
This is so nice of you!

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoI love your stories of the cats at the temple. I hope you catch up with the aggressive monk!
Glad you like these temple cats. They are surprisingly very sweet and gentle. Cats are very sensitive and considerate!
I am still waiting for the chance to meet that aggressive monk!
not sure why but I did get scared by the cats 🙂

Oh! Some cats could look intimidating and unfriendly. But they had to be defensive because they had been bullied in the past. I find most cats are friendly once they started to know me. Hope you encounter nice and gentle cats.
Yay! 🤗

It is so wonderful of you taking such good care of the temple cats. They must really look forward to your visit. The kittens will get used to you feeding them I am sure. They are very cute!
Thanks so much for your encouragement. The kittens were very funny! They started crying for sympathy and food whenever they saw me. One kitten couldn’t decide whether to be friendly or defensive. So, she kept hissing twice then meowing sweetly once. She came very close to sniff my finger. I hope they would let me touch them soon.
