Beautiful Sunday: walking around the garden and countryside.

Once in a while, the weather turned very sunny and bright without any rainy clouds as usual. My spirit perked up and I became very enthusiastic about getting out in sunshine while the weather stayed sunny. Suddenly, I realised the importance of sunlight and its beneficial impact on my moods, body and feelings. I felt very upbeat and energetic to get some suntan while walking along the dirt road.

The simply green surroundings looked so beautiful and uplifting to my brain. My whole body could feel the string sunshine and warming sensation on my skin. Most of the time, I would avoid direct contact with strong sunshine in the city. Somehow the quality of sunshine combining with air pollution in the big city didn’t give me the sense of well being. But in the countryside, this process of getting ‘grilled’ in hot sunshine gave me a sense of rebooting my battery.

The blue sky with natural white clouds were precious to my eyes. They represented optimism and hope for better things to come later on. I could get very high and intoxicated by blue sky and hot sunshine. The combination just made me so happy to be alive and walking on the orange dirt road. That’s probably why I no longer had the urge to travel to big cities or go sightseeing in other countries. I did have the chance to travel France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. But I always enjoyed hiking on mountains and visited old sacred places rather than shopping in big crowded cities.

My friends were quite surprised that I didn’t find pleasure in traveling to cities with lots of people and exciting excursions. I had realised that I lost my ‘chi’ or inner life force while being in crowded and noisy places. On the other hand, I became very energetic and revived internally whenever I went waking in woods and mountains. So, I told my friends to travel wisely. The investment on traveling had to be ‘profitable’ in terms of generating more ‘chi’ or ‘ life force’ instead of wasting precious life force.

I noticed that some people got much older after their tiring long journey overseas. Their health suffered as if they lost their ‘chi’ or ‘energy of life force’ during their journeys. So, I told my friends that I would travel to places where there’s ‘holy’ energies and mysterious sources of hidden energy. I wouldn’t waste my time, energy and money on traveling to places where my energy would be spent or drained without any replenishment or healing. In the past, I had stumbled on places where lots of healing energies and some time ‘magical’ source of energy for youthful feeling could be accessed on hills and mountains. I would love to have the chance to return to these few sacred sites one day.

The countryside around my part of the globe was low key but it had lots of hidden energies and healing ‘life force’. I had the intention to do long and deep meditation one day when my mind was in the right condition for this journey of spiritual contact with perhaps other dimension of energy. I felt so lucky to be led to this simple countryside with very old hidden stories of the past.

The land spirits and the earth continued to surprise me with their responses. The pomelo trees started to bear fruits after being dormant for almost six years. After talking to these pomelo trees and asking why they never bear fruits. They all bursted with white flowers and over a hundred fruits in one year. My gardener was very pleased as there were extra pomelo fruits for selling to villagers. So, she could make some pocket money.

Something strange happened to our mango trees this year. Last year, the sudden cold spell had made all the mango trees turned into amazing blossoms of fragrant flowers. We thought these would lead to abundant mango crops. But unexpected rain stormy and sudden swarms of insects destroyed all flowers. So, we had no single mango in our garden in January (the usual time for small mangoes to germinate and bear fruits).

I was very sad that this year we would have no mangoes for our enjoyment. I was desperate and went around mango trees to water them during the dry spell. I used to pray while watering mango trees as a wag to pay my gratitude. Then last month my gardener told me these mango trees were bearing small fruits! It’s very strange that these mango trees would blossom twice in one season. So, I was very glad that my favourite mango trees had started to bear fruits out of season. My gardener would be able to sell some mangoes to villagers once again. I would have my mango smoothies and probably make some mango ice cream!

An orchid was suddenly in bloom; it’s small Wanda orchid gifted by an old friend.
