Some more Palia to cure what ails you!

Not much has changed with my up-and-coming home since my last Palia post, but a lot has changed with my character!

First of all, since I've been playing so much (80+ hours as of writing this, probably about 120ish as of posting this since I write things in advance), I decided to buy a pretty outfit for my lady. I spent a long time staring at the store choosing the one outfit I would be happy for my lady to wear forevermore, and this was the one.

Because this was the first time I had bought currency for the game, they gave me a free pet too! Woo. If I buy another 2000 coins, I can get 3 more free pets... maybe if something else jumps out at me...

It's not the most flamboyant outfit, but it's one that suits my aesthetic.

I also hopped by a mirror and gave my character a new hairstyle, new hair colour, and changed her face slightly... not sure I'm happy with the face I chose; I might hop back to the mirror and change it back when I can. (It appears there is a couple of days time-out before you can do those types of drastic changes again.)

So, not much has changed with my house... so what have I been doing these many, many hours?

FARMING ALL THE THINGS.

In the screenshot above I joined in a party of people catching bugs.

I've been catching all the fish. In fact, I have caught so many fish that I have several picturesque screenshots of my character catching fish. XD

Some of these include her pre-transformation, but I thought they looked nice.... queue a heap of fishing screenies!

So pretty. xD

But there has been a point to all this farming. I've been aiming to get to level 10 in all of the professions so that I can join the respective guilds of each profession and start earning additional profession currency so I can buy more furniture and whatnot.

I also needed to level up my food-farming a lot more so I could earn apple seeds and blueberry seeds so I can progress part of the main quest.

And while waiting to do that one aspect of the main quest, I've been doing other bits and pieces of the main quest. xD Part of the quest line involves exploring ancient human ruins/temples that no one has been able to visit before — that no one knew existed before now.

One of them involved going into this massive floating sky temple and drifting along thermals and things. It took a good hour to complete the area as I had to do quests for three different people while I was in there as well as work out how to "activate" the temple.

Judging by the screenshot above, I still have one temple to explore!

Also, if you're familiar with Stardew Valley and other cozygames, this has one of those "collections" type of things where you need to collect a bunch of stuff in order to fulfil something.

In Stardew Valley it was collections for the Junimos to restore the Community Centre... in this... I'm not too sure what I'm collecting things for yet. And, to be honest, I haven't started yet. I'll get there at some point!

While farming, fishing, foraging, fossicking, and all other manner of resource gathering activities... I found this lovely little thing. A heartdrop lily.

Apparently you can gift it to someone to show your interest in them and thus blossoms a relationship. There are several people you can give the lily to, and I really like the variation in the people available.

There is a young rich girl maybe 20 or so, a farm boy also 20 or so... and they have a thing going on. If you choose to romance one of them, obviously you're getting between them and that's a situation that'll have to be rectified. There's a grumpy hunting loner, maybe mid-20s, an older man who's lost his wife and has a daughter, a freakin' robot...

But yeah. They're all different ages, have different personalities, their own things going on, and it's not like Stardew Valley where you feel like all the bachelors are high-schoolers.

20240622192953_1.jpg

After much consideration — (although, apparentlyyyyy you can also romance more than one person; that's not for me.) — I decided between the grumpy hunter or the happy-go-lucky chef. And chose the chef.

And proceeded to crack up at the dialogue options.

In the screenshot above. Look at the first option. "I LOVE TRASH."

Man. I'm sure that'll make him feel better about himself HAHA.

And now he has a Romance level as well as a Friend level.

Surprisingly, the NPCs are one of my favourite things in Palia. In a lot of these cozygames, the NPCs are just awful... they're all one dimensional, they're all overly happy, pleased to see you, etc...

In this, it's clear they have nuance. And while a lot of the NPCs are friendly, a few are not, a few are neutral, and you have to earn their friendliness and respect.

I'm hoping in my next post there'll be more progression updates in regards to my house, but for the time being I'm just trying to make all the money, level up all my skills, and get my friendship up with all the people. xD

I need a loottttt more gold before I can properly start work on the house, so...

... time to get farming!

Until next time! 😊✨🍄

Looks like a day full of activities in the game 😅. The fish catching moments were really catchy, loved the snapshots

The activities are endless! 😁 Fishing is really good in this game. Need to cast out, then reel in while matching the fish's movements... in some fishing minigames, you literally don't have to do anything except click when the bobber bobs, so this makes for a nice change.
